To those who are using Godaddy/Afternic NS5/NS6 BIN Landers:

Be advised, the "Buy Now" buttons are not working on the landers.

So far, the only domains not affected are those that are opted-in to the Fast Transfer network.

For everything else, you may want to consider the NS3/NS4 landers or an alternative for the time being until they get the issue resolved.

I suspect this has been an unknown issue for quite awhile and as I'm sure you can imagine, there are a lot of domains affected by this issue.

I discovered the issue at the end of June while testing the BIN landers and knew something was terribly wrong when I was directed to an empty cart after ticking the buy now button. (I reported it immediately. Unfortunately, it didn't actually get seen or heard until a follow-up this week.)

Needless to say, they are now aware of the issue and working "feverishly" on it.

In the event this takes them longer than expected as I suspect it will, I thought it best that everyone using the NS5/NS6 BIN landers be made aware of the issue.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Even after weeks, the only answer they can give is "we are aware of the situation! Just wait a little longer. It's about to get better. It should be fixed now. Let's see..."

Look at the state of the billion dollar company.

Antics!

What the hell...?

Edit: Yes they are down. Is Afternic/GD trying to get rid of us altogether...?

This situation is starting to feel like an inside job!

It's a huge company, it has dozens of employees.
It is inexplicable that they can't fix a simple web page for weeks and cause even more problems...

Dozens? They have about 6,600 employees.
I have a theory.

The developer has recently left, so the development department has been empty.

The new guy that took over is now learning how to code in order to fix this thing.

@Joe Styler

I think I've found it. I'm a GoDaddy customer, and I'm always logged in, in a separate tab of my browser.

When logged in, the error appears on Afternic BIN landers.

When I log out from GoDaddy, and do the same, I am redirected to the GoDaddy cart - no problem then.

Hope you are able to solve this.

I can confirm the very same issue.

@Joe Styler -- Given the ongoing stream of people experiencing these errors since this thread was started on July 9th, it might be helpful to provide an update on the situation.

I have over 1,000 names listed at Afternic. Just checked and there are only 5 show up.
Both in the new and old versions of Afternic.

NONE of them resolved to NS5/NS6 anymore.
Maybe they should hire (or transfer since they are the same company now) some people from Dan to write the software for them.

How much money they (and I) will lose from this B.S. bug?

Just tested couple of my domains in the following TLDs: .xyz, .holdings, .com, .education and Buy Now is working. Regular mode and incognito mode on Firefox.

Too late. I changed my DNS to somewhere else.
I am not going to take a chance and waiting for them to lose my income.
I may be back - If they can prove to me they are stable and no more bugs.

Let's hope the NS3/4 is still working ☺️

But anyway, if serious buyer, they will find the name somehow ☺️

Yesterday we did have an issue with the cart for about an hour I believe. It did impact domain sales but it was on and off during that hour and not consistent. As you can imagine any cart issue is taken seriously and they fixed it quickly.

Are ns3/ns4 landers working properly. I mean if ns5/ns6 domains are having issues , what do you suggest should we switch to ns3/ns4 landers or to dan.com landers (which is now Godaddy's subsidiary as well) ;) :P

It was an issue with the cart itself not the landers at all. They always worked, the cart would sometimes hit an error yesterday. That is really rare and a top priority of the company as you can imagine, to fix. So you should be good with any NS.

You should fire those programmers who made a mess to the website.
They need to test them before apply them to the live site.
I still have only 5 names in my account not. It supposes to be over 1,000
I have been in IT for 37 years and this would not happen in my department.

Hi,

Does it mean any extension would work in ns5/ns6?

I'm asking because I've read that only some would work. So I'm confused.

Thanks

Monday was a complete cart disaster.

It took them a little awhile to fix it once they realized there was an actual issue and when it started up again on Tuesday, they were ready for it. (Assuming it was the same issue.)

I thought the BIN landers would be a game changer, but in the very short time I used them, they have proven to be nothing more than a headache. (Too much overthinking went into their creation, which has clearly over-complicated a simple process.)

At least we now know that if there's ever an issue with the cart, there will most likely be Buy Now button failure on these landers. (This has been proven.)

I think everyone learned a very valuable lesson here.

Never assume everything is working perfectly. Make a habit of randomly testing your landers. After all, your sales depend on it.

If a buyer isn't able to checkout, there's a good chance you'll lose the sale.

I did what I do. I found and reported the BIN lander bug within minutes of changing my nameservers. Unfortunately, as previously stated, it took a follow-up call to get more eyes on it.

For everyone still using the landers, I hope sales have picked up for you.

As for me, I think I'll just stick with the NS3/NS4 landers for the time being where there aren't any BIN button issues, domain extension limitations or any issues with landers not resolving in Firefox Private.

Besides, the Afternic brokers as well as Transaction Assurance are doing a fantastic job!

I was specifically referring the cart issue a couple days ago.

I think the ns5/ns6 lander is not working as expected for a for-sale landing page

I mean, if not price is set, it should change to a make offer, like DAN's landers

Also I think probably a good idea would be we could chose the currency to show e.g USD. I'm saying this because the currency font is a bit small and could make confusions

Using a private window on Firefox the page takes a really long time to load when using NS5 and NS6.

Does this happen to other people?
