Guys,

how many of you are on Twitter? Are you doing some good sales there? Let's discuss :)

I personally started my Twitter account yesterday (and would be glad if you connect me there).

After having more than 12k followers on LinkedIn, I want to experiment with Twitter now, as I think LinkedIn can be sometimes pretty boring and slow.

Twitter seems to be more lively.

GL to everyone, and create your Twitter presence if you are not there yet!

i personally have no social media accounts but i really like the idea to use twitter as a platform to market Firstname+Lastname domains but that's about it.

That's something that could work but at the same time might piss people off :). Not sure there's serious money in it though but for some low $xxx sales, definitely.

I don't know, never felt comfortable owning first + last names.

i actually actively look for domains i can sell for xxx range considering am unable to hold onto domains for very long i always need to buy new ones and sell the old
not to go off-topic but yeah i didn't previously feel comfortable owning firstname+lastname but that changed when i sold my first one

@Brands.International

Try Clubhouse instead. Seriously, insanely overhyped so a great platform to flog some domains.

Good strategy if you cannot hold long. But choose your names wisely. Look for aged drops. Best names are gone obviously. look for somewhat commonly used names that haven't been available for a while.

A lot of investors frown upon low xxx flips but it might give you the incentive and funds to expand you endeavours so best of luck to you!

I'm an old hat with Twitter.

In fact, 12 years ago I developed a really cool marketing system called Powered By Tweets which unfortunately died shortly after that when Twitter changed the rules - big sad face :xf.eek::arghh::xf.frown::blackeye:

04.17.2021-11.01.png

The domain I let expire awhile later and someone probably Twitter itself snatched it up.

So, which one of the dozens of accounts should I list? hmm okay @BradCWilson that account is for the most part unused and extra "nice" ha.

Well all my stuff is nice but this one just doesn't overly expose my old domains :)

So if anyone wants to pull some of my old domain "nuggets", you'll have to do some diggn.

Oh yes of course I've used Twitter to market my domains but I haven't done it recently so I'd be very interested to see if it works now because it didn't before.
Just followed you, Brad, thanks for sharing your account - please follow me back, maybe we can revive Twitter a bit :)

Sorry about that. Social Media. In full disclosure, I hate most forms of social media from the bottom of my heart.

Clubhouse... Don't even get me started... :)
@DirkS in my opinion social media are not here for us to enjoy - social media are here for us to utilize.

I hate social media and would never post my private information on the internet - but most people simply like to interact on social media, so we need to accept this necessary evil ;)

For $200 I'm not gonna sell my soul to the devil...

This is nothing .. he's liking his own tweets. // Congrats! Using all of us for your own agenda. Not cool.

I managed to get 12k connection on LinkedIn, but then I got lazy, neglected domaining and started to buy NFTs .. this craze lasted for 4 months :)

but I am back now - I am now building my Twitter audience, after I am done, you are right, I will have to check Clubhouse ..

I do not have any agenda - I just want to connect with as many people as possible and have some fun on Twitter.

Yes, I am liking and retweeting my own Tweets - pls learn how information is spreading on social media, it will become obvious why you have to do it when you start a new account.

You know, if there is something less traditional you have not experienced yet, just observe it - no need to be immediately judgmental :) You can maybe use it later for your purposes.

You got 6 blocks already ... You're using my honest answer / posts to you for your own agenda! No respect. You like to dance? Let's dance!

You are not selling your soul to the devil Dirk - you just helping fellow domainers to get an audience on social media.

I know - many domainers are used to quarrel together, most read threads here are those where you fight with someone - but why not be friendly and help each other?

When you will create new account on Twitter or at LinkedIn and ask me to help, I will do it :)

I agree... To some extent. I used to be involved in quite a lot of marketing campaigns (TV, web, YouTube, tiktok, patreon, insta etc) but I decided to discontinue our social media offerings a couple of years ago.

I've never used it personally, business wise it's huge but I cannot justify doing it anymore looking at the bigger picture.

As for NFTs... I think the way they're getting media attention nowadays is a big hype/bubble but I did sell my first NFT the other week so there's money in it :).

Read up on the environmental issues that comes with it though. Sold my cryptos, done with that shit.

LinkedIn used to be ok but gets 'abused' so much these days. I just don't trust any company harvesting big data. Looking at the rate tech is evolving I can only contemplate about the level of evil they will reach in another decade or so.

Anyway, yeah spot on. Helping each other singing kumbaya next to a campfire seems nice :).

@Lox I usually like your posts and knowledge and find them informative. I do respect your opinions.

Saying that this is a public discussion forum, and everyone can discuss here freely as long they respect the forum rules (and their local law).

I do not appreciate your tone in your last posts, and therefore I advise you to block me. This way you will not see the content I produce and we do not need to interact together any further. I will also not react to your forum posts any further. If you have any other problems with my posts, use the report button, mod teams will assist you.

I wish you only the best in your future endeavors.

Thank you.

lol, I just love NFTs :) I think they are the future.

People are nowadays showcasing their luxury homes or watches .. in the future, they will showcase their NFTs.

One thing I really like regarding NFTs is that once you purchase it, you simply own it. No need to pay those yearly renewals

I do agree with you that at the moment the cost (financial and from an energy point of view) of minting NFTs are large - you need to pay $50 - $100 just to make a simple transaction on the Ethereum network. So Ethereum is rightly criticized for that.

But, there is a possibility to create "clean" NFTs even at this moment - there are first NFTs on BSC, first NFTs on Kusama, first NFTs on Solana, I just minted something on xDai, etc - so there are a lot of options now to create NFTs which does not cost so much energy/money, while most people are not yet aware of these options.

But I agree that we are just at the very beginning here :)

You're done? You even do not consider to apologize to all for using us for your own agenda. At least, I know the way you're "helping". It's your thread, so continue. I will keep the door a bit open, just in case, if in the future, your attitude get improved so we can continue to enjoy the NPs. Have a fun!

Thanks :) Yeah, I know, singing kumbaya together might seem a little bit off, but I think there is so much unnecessary quarreling - domainers would do so much better if they would promote domains together to the external world and stopped their internal disputes.

Or you just block him? I wouldn't advise anybody to do so thought as his posts are priceless. I'm glad he returned after his winter hibernation.

Lox, I get what you are saying, but let's be real - at least you are not served here mega treads of word1word2word3 .online domains or hyphenated .com are back in fashion or .top is .top which is on the top...are whether craziness is going on here for months.

This is a discussion forum and everyone has their agenda. We are domainers. Some are more opportunistic. Some are narcissistic personalities. Some are totally crazy. The more narcissistic and crazy, the more attention they will get. Reading everything that was posted here during the last few months, I am not at the top of craziness here, or am I?

If I used some of your time or positive attitude when you replied to any of my threads and u feel your positive energy was misused by me, I do apologize to you.

But pls recognise that I will have always some agenda as everyone here has - for example, I will relentlessly promote and educate people about my favourite new gTLDs.

I tell you this in advance, so you can decide freely if to interact with me in future, to avoid unnecessary disappointments.

Yes, that's the only issue I take. The energy resources wasted to create them/power transactions.

I don't think they add much value overall anyway so it's concerning to see this take off big time.

Let's hope over time more people will opt for the environmental friendly options. Ultimately if society continues to go 'virtual/online' more and more we're all doomed in my opinion. Orwellian doom If you'd ask me but that's beyond the reach of this thread so let's save that for a thread focussing on the philosophical side of the issues this world faces as of today.
