Looks like FB is going to own TM for a Tax company called Libra........I don't see the connection between the currency called "Libra" controlled by the Libra Association and the currently unregistered TM application owned by Facebook for accounting and tax purposes.

Noteworthy is the logo differs greatly between the currency and the discussed TM application. This indicates a difference. They are not the same.

there r tons of tm with libra in them . if a product is called librabathrobes u cant use that tm, if its librawidgets u cant use that without infringing if any have an actual tm application that is.

but if a site is called librareview u cant tm that! its a copyright maybe but thats all.imo

umm the figure of 2.4 billion is fake! in may 2019 a report came out saying at least 50% of the user accts r fake and maybe more

up to 3 billion fake user accts were removed by fb in 3 months in 2019 alone, so when u r as big as fb u can say whatever u want.

u really think almost half the population of the earth (ie 7 billion approx) are on fb?? come on. approx 3 billion people dont even have the internet! its all made up!

Sure there are fake profiles in that number. But they own instagram, whatsapp as well. Together with facebook, they have a massive user base even after we take out fake profiles. Imaging the impact it could make on world population when they integrate this currency in those apps.

sure it will have impact, thats a no brainer, but the numbers are all fake and thats the reality. even with the other companies they own its still bogus data. it means NOTHING only numbers someone made up.they still have the monopoly though of course but dont believe the numbers. they still will be number 1 in members but its way less than they report.

With a ambition to become the global currency, i don’t think they’ll hunt down “libra” related businesses. It’s like digging their own grave. But it’s a different case with the term “calibra”. Calibra is a fb company. They’ll exercise legal actions if somebody uses that term for a crypto related business. The more popular the libra becomes, the more time people spend on their apps/websites. Ultimately thats what those big companies need. The more time people spend on their apps the more money they can demand from the advertisers.

People pretend libra will be new bitcoin. Maybe, but I don't think so. I hear about this story just after selling a good one for 2 figures. We will see.

What was the name you sold?

Something like that happened to me right before bitcoin and Eth took off.

Also, I think this will be way bigger than bitcoin. I don't think bitcoin is global, or for everyday people.
But i think they will compliment each other well.

Way less? they are buying out companies like it's nothing... spending billions each time. They have to have a ton of users and ad revenue from them to generate such consistent cash flow...

None of us can say what their number is. I can only account for the massive windfall of money they are bringing in and that has to have a profound source...I don't doubt that they have a massive user base... ofcourse bots and fake pages, and sex spam will be created every second.. But in NY alone where i live..i haven't met any yet who doesn't mention instagram... it's like phone and email is old school. Maybe only my mom who isn't tech savvy, nor wants her face online... may not have instagram. Then whats app is global too... whole nations use it from small caribbean islands to huge countries. Though their numbers may be off..i don't doubt it's still large enough. It's like a blog making 100k/month and someone is doubting they can have over 100k+ in traffic.

Also, if they don't have that much, whats the point you're making?

I'll never defend FB..I know their numbers are overblown... But i'm being realistic.. they have the majority user-base worldwide. Because what other mega social media is out there? So even a off number is still a big number. It's like politics... we can sometimes not like a party of candidate..and so one sided we put everything they do into a bad light. One group did it with the last president and now another group is doing it with this president. I have a facebook profile but i rarely go on it.... maybe once a month for no more than a minute. So i'm not a crazy fan of theirs. But at the same time i can't deny that they control a massive portion of users. I can't deny google control a massive amount of searches. I can't deny namepros is the top domainer forum out and has the major user-base...
