Well, I registered mine for less than $5, maybe I will check with my registrar if they accept registration from outside the country, or better still put up a list of such registrars for you guys.

Thanks. I checked at DomComp, two registrars available, both have all register/renew/transfer prices at around 80 $.

Not that I'm going to register any, it was just out of curiosity.

Have there been any sale of these names to end-users? Knowing Nigerians and being one, domaining is a tough sale to us as consumers. And the high renewal cost doesn't help matters.

Yea.. Thats why i said i might have sm issues with trademark. So its a 50 50 situation. but on a positive note ,just sold a trademarm .ng domain yesterday for $150. they started with a dispute but ended with an offer.

yea . my first sale. 400% profit.. not much. but worth more than a renewal cost

Congrats on the sale. But as a rule, I stay away from trademarks. It is definitely a very slippery slope.

Lol.. Thanks. And youre very correct . Trademark names are trouble. im also wel aware of NIRA rules and dispute process.
A major concern i have is that most of oour countys ccTLDs have bean bought by foreigners .. esp indians and chineese. And im talking about valuable one word generics. Seems we are still very much asleep.

Are you being serious now??? Welcome to domaining... It doesn't work this way, go through the forum and read up. And I will advise you still to only dot com at the moment. Goodluck going forward.
