Hi guys,
I'm a newcomer. I decided to become a full-time Domainer this year ( i knew about Domain Industry before, reg some like hobby but since Jan-2018, i started to build my own portfolio like a domainer)
So i started to learn, buying and selling names.
I've spent over $13,000 :smuggrin: to build my portfolio and i'm increasing my budget day by day.
I've worked day to night in last 288 days without vacations and day offs.
I just bought "good names" that reach my criteria, so my portfolio is too small ( 530 domains).:xf.frown:
But today, i feel too tired then i decided to look back what i've done and ... sleep earlier ( i live in Southeast Asia so i have to work at night, too tired you know :inpain:).
Then i just thought that why i didn't post my portfolio and ask other domainers about it.
I hope that i'm doing right.

Don't listen to the naysayers @GeorgeQuang

You have many incredible domains. And I don't blame the members here, there is research required before one can judge the quality of these domains. All you need to do is start emailing potential buyers, and I am sure you'll have tens of sales to report in the next few weeks.

Quality is preferred over quantity absolutely and you should keep that in mind but now that you have bought them, it's time to sell. Good luck.

Looks are deceiving as I just make sure I stay positive. I learnt about domain in less than 2 years and just 2 sales to cover up for total investment $120 and can't spend too much until I get high $×××/above sale to really kickstand my domain adventure because it's really interesting.

You posted how much you spent and the names but I'm more interested in how many names you've sold and for how much. Are any of these getting offers, etc.

Most people starting out and they post their domains, it's like a straight Horror Fest, this one is halfway decent. You have some nice brandables in the list, some potential.

I don't know why almost people here hate or scale about huge portfolio. They just think about its renewal fee without opportunities for having tons of name - of course you must get as many good name as you can.

Investing in those liquid names just guarantee that your names can be sold quickly, but sadly, they are not the most profitable kind of names.

your portfolio is not all that great. The renewal-fees outrun what you can make, and I do sense some desperation when you talk about how much you work and how you built your portfolio. Through a PM I did send you a name you could register, but you said it did not fit your portfolio and profile. Now I believe you should have taken the name.It would have brought you more money than the 13K you invested.

Old dogs, new tricks? Don't work.

But young dogs? They can learn the tricks from the old ones.

You should remember that.

He gave me sportswearpalace.com which just reg in 2015 with no potential buyers.

1k-3k each year??? He already made 5k with the 3 reported sales above.

Start doing outbound and you can be sure you'll make a lot of money in no time.

Yes, that's true, Haris. Almost guys here just started their career in Domain Industry and they seem that don't have more Experiences. And i'm closing to sell sardiniawine.com for more than $1300, which just costed me 35$.
And now i get 1 Inbound inquiry for each 5 days. Not bad for a small portfolio :smug:

I took one name at random - OrchidClothing.com

Estibot values this at $630 - I suspect that could be a bit high, but it could be a good name for a clothes shop.

I looked up the who.is, and it says it's with GD with privacy

I typed the name into my address bar, and it said the site didn't exist.

You aren't making it easy for me to buy the name if I wanted it.
It's mine. Registering it if you can :smuggrin: hehe =))

At first glance I think your overall list looks pretty solid. There are lots of quality 2 word .COM with end user potential.

LLL.com are great, though $13K for one is an outlier price. Also, if you put all your money into one asset like that it is dead capital until it sells. With many decent domains you have far more fishing lines in the water which can help overall sales potential.

I will say 13K for 500+ domains is a relatively low initial cost.

If you raised the bar to around low $XXX average acquisition cost the quality would probably go up dramatically and renewal costs go down.

But hey ho. The few good ones I've sold so far have paid for the crap ones and lesson learned the hard way.

So OP I would take a good look at your good names (In my very newbie opinion there are some reasonably decent names in there), and prune out the crap ones, then as a few members have said here look for end users, send outbounds, and get better landing pages, even if they're just all on uniregistry...

You're title has drawn a lot of people to this thread though to read your portfolio so that's one marketing strategy that has worked I guess! :D

Yes, i knew the Landing Page are terrible.
But my strategy is build the portfolio first, then when i can ensure that i have strong names, i will create my own Market Place Site. Thanks :smuggrin:

It was light-hearted banter buddy.

I think excluding selling your domains to other domainers is a bit of a strategy flaw. If I sell to a reseller then I have money to reinvest, if they want to chase end-users then all power to them and good luck I say. It depends on your cash flow. I personally would prefer a steady income.

You started this thread saying you were ready to give up, if I were ready to give up I'd liquidate my domains to anyone who gave them the time of day rather than letting them expire... Be consistent.

I think your the guy who said low priced gd premium listings are selling real well for him.. so without knowing how much you're out its hard to say how you're doing..

Yes @alcy . Cashflow is king, and as i said i'm increasing my budget. Which means i'm OKAY with my own financial STATS, right? :xf.love:

I wasnt asking about your personal finances.. that's well.. personal...

you said you spent 13k on domaining so far, and then want people to advise you.. so imo in order to tell you better how your doing, you should also mention how mcuh you sold for in domaining.. not just how much you lost. the key number is the difference between the two :) the other numbrs don't really mean anytning.

All I see is the annual fixed cost of $5K with potential annual sales in $1K-3K range.

And similar portfolio could have been built on $4K-6K budget as well.

There are some "keepers" there too, like AiFactor, AiLeasing, AiStartup, FloralHub, FloralPros,
I'm awaitting for you to create the same portfolio as mine with only 4-6K. When you complete, please tag me in your notify thread. :smuggrin:
