Nice info!

This one sold by another NP member for only a few hundred at Sedo auction earlier this year, but gladly for him the bidder never paid. After that it was sold again for $9,000, a very nice sale for this $1k renewal. Wonder what Oprah paid for it.

Hope she will develop it and, more important, mentions it a lot at her shows!!

I think she couldnt get the .com or maybe the .tv was her first preference but this will be big I think. Search own oprah and it does seem like it will be a pretty big site.

Well see when she announced Own TV they originally had OwnTV.TV pointing to her web site, now it points to Discovery Channel who she is partnering with.

This is an incredibly important moment for .tv if the channel goes live and they go through with the .tv branding of the channel.

Agreed. It'll be very interesting to see what happens with .tv next year with this type of exposure.

This is huge! You can be sure of one thing, if Oprah has a TV domain everyone will want one.

Expect some big offers for some dot TV names in the next six months.

You may be right, but seeing that the named was registered in May of 2007, Discovery Communications may have had plans for this particular extension and seem to be on track with it.

I would like to know if they "own" anymore .tv domain names.

Yeah right. The .tv extension already has a fair degree of usage with tv networks. Little doubt it would help if she did promote a .tv but I don't see it having a major difference.

You been saying much the same thing for two years now though. In that time I've told people to avoid .tv like the plague, and you told people the the extension was just about to boom. I guess at some point a tally needs to be taken about what did actually happen,

From 18 months ago (which was just before the .tv market really started to collapse),

Call me a cheerleader as you like, Quixote, though I remind you that I also stated in previous posts that I speculate in the extension with certain .tv names and I also hold many names in .com and quite a few others in many other extensions that are business ventures as well.

Because you wish a pox upon this particular extension does not mean that it will happen. I and others see your desperate and lonely battle against the extension as a folly that you steadfastly maintain. I no longer call you a naysayer but rather cast your role as a crusader, an altruistic Don Quixote whose mission it is appears to be to protect the speculators and business people from your ill-perceived and/or illusionary dire rampages of the .tv extension.

Your gallantry and endurance does not go unnoticed and your quest is as far away now as it was from whence you started. Such is the plight of a lonely crusader, though.

So march boldly into the sun, my dear Quixote, and dreaming that impossible dream is in your realm, not ours, as you fail to realize that this is a business venture that we embark upon, not a crusade.
