Feedback Appreciated

LgmDan · Sep 20, 2009

I really like both ideas.

scorpion you made a great "buddy", shizuo i really like the "hidden" technical part in your buddy. Maybe your buddy could be "more alife"?!

Edit to shizuo: More smiling and a different font would be good.

ancitis · Sep 20, 2009

Will enter this for sure! Have some ides already!
Wait for me.

Nodws · Sep 21, 2009

can switch poses/expresion/hair/skin/color upon request

LgmDan · Sep 21, 2009

Thank you nodws, but i think its a little too playful. It should fit into a business

I´m wating for everyone who wants to join

Nodws · Sep 21, 2009

no problem, more tech

LgmDan · Sep 21, 2009

Sorry nodws, the buddy is too playful for me. He´s not bad as itself, but I would use it better for a toy shop.

ancitis · Sep 21, 2009

So here's my variation.
All vectors. All original.
Any feedback will be highly appreciated.

LgmDan · Sep 22, 2009

Hi ancitis,

that´s a very good one. I really like the font. Is it a free one so i could use it later?
Would you mind to change the website screen to Lifestream Backup :: Home
The colors are fitting more.

ancitis · Sep 22, 2009

Hi.

No it isn't a free font. Would turn it into vectors/curves, when giving away the logo.

Here is how the logo would look like on the "http://lifestreambackup.com/" website screen.

LgmDan · Sep 22, 2009

Thank you very much. I like the orange background the most.

Ok, so i could use the font for print work and stuff like that?

I have to talk to some friends of mine and get back to you with more detailed feedback.

ancitis · Sep 22, 2009

You could use the logo for whatever you want to.
There wouldn't be no licensing problems if that's what you wanted to know.
It's all vectors (including the font) - so its all yours if you want it.

LgmDan · Sep 22, 2009

Okay, its for sure in the next round

i´m open for other ideas of course.

Erdy · Sep 22, 2009

As far as I know converting a font to vector shapes or flat image or another format does not mean you are free to use a licensed font. On the other hand, there is an easy solution for that. Ancitis you would have to change at least one letter in some ways. Then it will be copyright free. An example to this is the o in microsoft logo.

ancitis · Sep 22, 2009

As consulted some of my friends/designers, my entry already appears to be valid and there can't be any license problems further.
And found this:
1.4 Embedding of the Font Software into electronic documents or internet pages is only permitted under the absolute assurance that the recipient cannot use the Font Software to edit or create a new document (read-only). It must be ensured that the Font Software cannot be fully or partially extracted from said documents.

Anyway there's no winner yet, so let's stop talking and make some logos!

LgmDan · Sep 23, 2009

Jeah nodws, that´s the kind i like! Thank you! Nice font, nice colors and a cool techie buddy!

LgmDan · Sep 23, 2009

ancitis: why is your logo gone?
