Detected Domains is an ongoing series documenting the domain names that industry experts and large portfolio owners are currently buying and selling. In this week's edition, we take a look at some potential activity on a seven-figure domain name in China and we see the latest purchase from Media Options, as documented on this week's DomainSherpa show.
HBS.com moved into possession of 62.com, a Chinese domain name brokerage company. According to WHOIS history, the name was acquired through @Sedo in mid-April, although no sales price has been publicly revealed.
@Nat Cohen’s @Telepathy Inc may have sold Fix.tv recently as the domain name entered privacy protection.
55.com could have been sold in China this month. The domain did host a website until recently but now the domain doesn’t resolve. The name has also entered WHOIS privacy protection at GoDaddy.
@Frank.Schilling sold HireAmerican.com within the last few months. The name is already being used to host a careers website.
Scallop.com was also sold by Frank Schilling’s company. The domain had a “Buy Now” price of $55,000 at Afternic.
James Booth (@BoothDomains) acquired the three-letter domain RPE.com earlier this month.
Reflecting a change in WHOIS information, Internet Real Estate Ltd looks to have acquired Wadsworth.com from Cengage Learning Inc recently. According to this week’s @DomainSherpa show, the price paid for the domain was $7,000.
Aries.com left Escrow.com’s holding account today and moved under privacy to a Uniregistry account. According to DomainIQ, DomainCapital may have played a part in financing this purchase.
@Mike Mann announced the sale of TripleCherry.com this week. The domain sold for $19,888 after Mike purchased the domain four years ago for $9. TripleCherry.com is now registered under privacy protection at GoDaddy.
