quick google search shows me some retail places bars etc have that name if your aggressive and hit em all up i think u can make a sale

Of course it can be profitable, if that's your question, but even the best .US names will be a long shot.

It has a nice ring to it, short common dictionary word, it's almost a domain hack, in fact I think it probably qualifies as one.

100% I think you can get high xxx low xxxx from end user, youd have to prove to them other .us that sold high, do a pitch and i think it can go, for the retail store its really worth it

I have already mailed about 23 potential buyers, who have either long lair-suffix names on .us, or who have lair on other extensions.

Will try level best for marketing, first. As, it dropped after quite some time, and there are already many sites with lair.us as the suffix.

I did a check,
Most cctld's, including the one's i dint even hear about are occupied on this one.

And considering the fact that "Lair" is an English Dictionary word, it makes more sense on .us, although it is really a tough extension to have a good sale at.

I wouldn't mind a quick mediocre sale too.

It is gone even on cctld's like

.cn .jp .io .cc .ca .cz .sc .se .es .nl .at

Update, and Hope for .US domains:-

Received an offer on sedo, although it is a mid xx one.

It is within 6 hours of buying this domain.
Will counter for sure.

Companies like Shell (shell.us), Mobil (mobil1.us), AMAC (amac.us) know the value of branding in the ccTLD of the USA. For chrissake, even Shell, the US-based subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell, gets it. Entities outside of the USA where they depend on their country code domains understand the value of .us better than "America's Pastime."

If you are going to buy .US domains it should be strong keywords or generic words. There are also quite popular for url shorteners.

.us domains do have some value, although not so commercially promising, but still if one has a strong keyword, the chances of a good roi are much more.

I had lair.us, and within a day's time after the purchase, i got a $100 0ffer on it.

Figured with the legalizing of it spreading it might be worth something. Picked up the org and co as well.

There are still quite a few LLL.US options available to be hand registered. They do all have some value and probably top out at mid to mid-high $XXX. I own 20 ish of them and they are all parked. They get visits every day and some get a fair amount.
