Hello, I think it would be pretty useful to keep track of all LLLL.com sales , even the little ones under $100 so that , pretty soon , when the available LLLL.com will be finished , we`ll have a better idea on market prices.

It is important that these sales are confirmed. So before to post, make sure payment went OK.

I will start with todays` Sedo confirmed sales:

FISE.com 2,700 Euros
TSRT.com US $760
VEUP.com US $1,700

Also, I found interesting to see this average LLLL, getting bids up to $51 and reserve not me. It says it all.

I wish! Sold 4 of mine there today, and two of them went for $15 + reg fee: VWNQ & WLQG (a double premium). Was certainly hoping for a bit more.

My other TDNAMs today: pronounceable-ish TAUJ ($56+) & triple-premium HSOQ ($46+). Not terrible, but could have been better.

Randomo,

TDNAM has the biggest lot of LLLL.com for sale so if you want to maximise your sale for the worst LLLL.com you have, my advice is to put them at bui it now (fixed price) so they will get sold if you`re reasonable with your asking but certainly not that low. Many people look first at the "buy it now" rather then chasing auctions.

Agreed -- I know I most certainly do :)

Just got a request to reserve 10 of my LLLL.coms (9 double letter and 1 triple premiums) @ $400. Buyer will be buying them in a couple days :tu:

$1700 in LLLL.com sales this year already! Even the naysayers now admit LLLL.coms are a success :)

It seems I`m the only one reporting from Sedo :'(

I`ll ask this another time please:

Note: since sometimes I can`t keep track of all LLLL.com sales I invite all of you to do the same as I do, so we never miss any of these IMPORTANT info :

I simply go to the SEDO Auction page , find all the LLLL.com auctions and save all of the bidding pages so I can see the history after they finish despite I am sleeping or am away. If you do that twice a week , you should collect all of them :)

Thanks

And now the updates :$: :$: :$:

Last ended acutions @ SEDO:

TGCO.com $580 (I keep saying it, the ones starting or ending in O, I and E , have a greater value)

http://www.sedo.com/auction/auction_history.php?language=us&auction_id=23321&tracked=&partnerid=

OJPP.com $161

http://www.sedo.com/auction/auction_history.php?language=us&auction_id=23334&tracked=&partnerid=

YIMZ.com $220

http://www.sedo.com/auction/auction_history.php?language=us&auction_id=23339&tracked=&partnerid=

TDUY.com $150

It seems the buyers have finished the holidays :)

Great Sales!

I just purchased NOBW.com for $60 on Namepros from Cyberian :)

I'd be happy to help with the Sedo stuff Lorenzo. Will list any sales you miss or all sales on days that you're away.

Nice sales, thanks for listing them Lorenzo. I bought Hiah~com, Opoj~com, Otuj~com and Oyuv~com back around November for $500; imagine that. Guys, this really has been great to watch happen "again"; it's just incredible.

another recent eBay sale (auction ended yesterday, payment received & domain delivered today)
QMWN - 28 - 8 bids

wow - I see it's already logged in TDVR - that was fast.
well ... anyway - subtracting about $3.20 for eBay + PayPal fees still yields a bit over 50% ROI on that one held for slightly less than 2 months.

here's another one I just received payment for last night ->
BNJV - 62 - 6 bids

A bit closer to 100% ROI for that one (won in NP auction for 20 on November 14th ... but then I put another 7.2 renewal fee in + also payed a bit more for a 10 day listing with BIN price on eBay)

And also a few others with not so great (possibly negative) ROI that I'm still waiting to get paid for (and actually hoping buyer for UVXO @ 27 doesn't follow through, I won't mind holding onto that one for a while longer - their loss!) ... will update if/when payment is actually received for the other sales. (And I still have to complete the purchase of my 2 bulk lots won yesterday ...)

Meanwhile here on NP, some interesting auction results (both sales yet to actually be completed, but still interesting just to look at the bids) ->

The respectably anti-premium ZVQN was bid up to 21.02
While the (IMO) more "semi-premium" TQBW went @ 20

Now maybe it's my attempts at "auction patter" making some difference, LOL ... but also noticing similar tendancy on eBay - the "semi-premiums" I put out there don't usually seem to do all that much better than the "anti-premiums" ... Haven't really studied this closely, may just be my own expectations are off a bit here ... That may be all there is to it - I'm looking at very short-term ROI - most of the anti-premiums I've been putting out there are my own $7 regs (though I've paid aftermarket prices from some others that I'm keeping!) - and almost all of the semi-premiums have had higher acquisition costs. So probably should even out a bit over a longer timeframe - mystery solved for now I think ... At this point makes sense for me to be selling more anti-premiums and less semi-premiums if there's not a huge difference in bids for either on eBay or here on NP ... (And expecting I might still be able to buy a few more anti-premiums cheap from time to time over the next several months.)

Prices since December seem like "another buyout" in terms of not only the sheer amount prices have gone up, but how many obstacles many claimed were in LLLL.coms way.

Pre-buyout, the argument were "Enduser won't want names with Q's, X's, Z's, ..." "There aren't enough endusers out there..." "It's taken 10 years for LLLL.coms to run out, why will their value suddenly increase?"

That's all been conquered.

Then, along comes December and we here stuff like: "Only premium LLLL.coms will ever really go up in value," "LLLL.coms with more than 1 bad letter probably won't increase in value faster than renewals," "LLLL.coms are just hype, there are no endusers" ...

That's all been conquered too - and anyone saying otherwise is clearly TDVR-uneducated.

A quick look around there shows X,XXX sales for names that aren't premium, many names with 2 bad letters selling for $100+ and tons of triple premiums selling for $100+.

Unthinkable? Unimaginable? Get over it! It's happened. The best thing to do now is invest before they go up even more. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that average prices are already well above my December 2007 report.

What are the odds of a LLLL.com being on auction at TDNAM for
7 days and NOT being seen by anyone? Is that possible?

Prices on what I'll call "true anti-premiums" are most certainly rising. Names with only Z,V,Q,J, X -- the worst 5 letters for anti-premiums imho, number only 625 specimens. When you take out repeating letter combinations (which are clearly not anti-premium), you're not left with many true anti-premiums...

Hmmm ... Z, V, Q, J ... where have I seen those letters before? (That's starting to look like a nice "collectors" pickup - might fetch a bit more than 12 in an auction now!)

No way I'll be selling it for under $49 :hehe:

If I ever sell it, it'll be for nothing less than a nice triple premium :)

My NP auction for VXJV.com just finished at $20... I forgot all about it though and forgot to bump it so its possible it may have gone for more...

I'm testing the water, to get a good idea of the market you have to be involved in it in every way. I have other sales going on on Ebay and other places too etc!

Quality names cost more

Caution is in order. Sure they are going up. Its because we domainers are a small communtiy.

We are hearing and seeing them move so we all "want in" It is not end users, but domainers who are purchasing most of these.

Its called speculation. Nothing wrong with putting a little money into something that is not a sure thing. As long as most of the names that are selling are bought up by domainers, LLLL are not going to realize their true prices. Oh yes, you may double your investment or better, but then too you may see you paid about all the market will bear for a long while and you may be stuck with them.

The true test of a domains worth is what percentage of any market does any particular domain represent?

Huh I dunno, is not the right answer, I bought the LLLL because they were going up, thats what I thought. Not selling for a great price is the end result of any name that has no defined market.

Now if you take LLLL and research the end user and end up selling to those end users, this scenario may be avoided. Then again that is alot of work to market to end users and most who try give up.

My summary is have some fun, buy low and try to flip a few before the complainers fill the forums with the hard time they are having selling average LLLL domains.

I focus on, does the name define a certain market better than other names?

If the LLLL makes no sense, it won't make any money either unless flipped to another domainer.

Just don't get stuck with a hot potato.

OJPP.com is another example of LLLL raising value! From tdvr database ojpp was sold for 12$ at AfternicBazaar one year ago and now it was sold for 161$ at Sedo :$:

Hi goodkarmaco,
I would disagree this time. New people is constantly entering in the LLLL market. 4L got extremly liquid ; they will not drop value. Never more.
4 hundred thousand plus is not an issue. Many companies, and individuals have or will get their LLLL. Being sold out they are collectibles now.
Do you need a stamp of the 60 s? Surely you don t but being a collectible (you cant produce an original anymore) will keep the value. In the long run prices might go up and down, but value will always grow. :imho:

LLLL are not going to realize their true prices.
Little example. There is a certain percentage of developed LLLL.com domains. I don't know what's it exactly because as far as I know it's still in the process but I think that about 25% of all LLLL.com domains are developed. This is about 100000 domains. Majority of domain names were registered only last 8-12 years. That means that approx about 10000 LLLL.com domains find end users every year. Taking into consideration that not all of them are commercial and some of them are just home pages - if even only 10% of them now will be selling to end users that means that we can expect 1000 LLLL.com inquiries about domain names from end-users each year!!!. Of course not all of them will be sold for 5000$-10000$ but still LLLL.com do have their end-users.
