This doesn't sound too hopeful.

I have bought the Ajax picture rating script - whilst it does basically work, it doesn't do everything on the feature list.

I've sent an email to their support email address. I hope they reply!

There seems to be issues with a lot, if not all, of your turnkey scripts as well as virtually no support. I see your forum loaded with unhappy customers and support requests that are ignored:

For example. =\ Also, the free SMS messaging you have, why is it not free? I've had a couple of the scripts you are reselling for free - I don't see anything actually recoded or updated in them. Are you just reselling the scripts or are you actually fixing bugs and doing PHP and MySQL updates? Everything is the same in many of the scripts I am familiar with that you're reselling.

Note to other members & team members viewing this thread. I OKed this member to combine all their scripts into 1 thread. We are still awaiting all the scripts to be emailed for clearing though. As soon as we are able to clear all the above listed scripts, I will edit this post to indicate the threads ok to stay.

I have read the disclaimer you made in the post I partially quoted. However, NamePro's good reputation and the fact that the listing is here did play some part in my decision to buy a script from Scripteen. A script that does not work fully as described and requests for help with this go un-answered.

For as long as you allow Scripteen to list their scripts here you are, whether you like it or not and whether you disclaim everything, adding your good name to a bad company and allowing a bad company to tarnish your reputation.

The title of the script describes the script. It lets you SEND sms for free - the script itself isn't free. There are similar scripts available but this script was developed in house by Scripteen.

This is not a NamePros issue, it is between you and the developer. You bought something and you got it... if it does not work fully as expected it reflects on the developer, not us. I fail to see your logic.

I did explain previously in the thread.

You allow Scripteen space on your forum. You even have some sort of approval and vetting. And I do know that you specify that script quality is not checked as part of your approval process.

All that said - the fact that you allow people to list poor quality scripts here reflects on Namepros.

As a real-world, but possibly extreme example, in the UK we had a newspaper called The News of the World. Part of News-International and the Murdoch empire.

As a result of some poor ethical judgements, advertisers started to pull their advertising as they didn't want to be associated with the NOTW brand. This led to the closure of a long-established newspaper.

In a similar way, you are, whether you like it or not, you are associated with the people and companies that you allow to post here. If the association is with bright shining companies some of their bright-shininess will rub off on you and you won't complain.

If however, the association is with a less well respected company, some of that will rub off on you as well. In fact, it has happened with me.

Now, I know that the contract is between me and Scripteen and I am trying to sort it with them, (so far they haven't replied directly to any contact I have had with them) and I am not trying to get Namepros to fix anything for me.

But, can you really let them continue to sell crap via your forum? Do you really believe that crap sold via your forum doesn't leave a smudge of crap on your good name?

I hope that clarifies my position and that you now understand where I am coming from.
