I think it is rather odd. Why mix English letters with non-Latin IDN?
Just because that might work for English, why assume that it works for Chinese? Right now, Chinese is so over-mined that many domainers are tacking on the character for 'network' (e.g. domainnameNetwork.com). There are other 'tack-ons' that can be used in Chinese, but I don't want to be seen as promoting such things here.
Tack-ons really reduce the value and makes the domain a 'brandable-only' IDN. Even that makes a whole lot more sense than an English letter. Don't you think?
