It seems that 3D is going to be the the next must have technology, according to the big brands, they are all launching 3D TVs.

I attempted to find good 3D names but the best domains are already taken, I think in 5 years time or even less, those generic 3D domains will be worth a lot. :imho:

Anyone else registering 3d domains? Do you think they have a future?

To touch on the 3d blu ray players. PS3 has reported there will be just a simple firmware update for the ps3 to be able to play 3d dvds. I personally think that is huge because there are millions of ps3s in housholds currently. This is supposed to be done by end of summer. Thats a huge push for the 3d ball to get rolling.

WASHINGTON (AP) - US Treasury, FBI and Homeland Security officials met today to discuss national security threats posed by the explosive growth of new media mind control. CDC Director Thomas Frieden testified that new versions of 3D motion pictures stimulate the retina in ways that confuse the cerebral cortex and change human behavior. CDC researchers theorize that this confusion is driving radical changes in consumer spending. CDC doctors, with assistance from CIA interrogators, so far have been unable to deprogram victims of 3D mania. Waterboarding techniques that broke KSM are ineffective. Meanwhile, the global financial order is unraveling. Recent ISM reports show seismic shifts in retail spending away from consumer staples (milk, bread, toothpaste) and towards the purchase of virtual products, specifically internet domain names containing the character string '3D'. In related news, ATF agents raided an aircraft hangar in Scottsdale Arizona over the weekend, seizing cash and securities valued at more than $21 billion USD.

does this mean if you have any domains with blu-ray 3d in them then you may not be able to sell them?

Who developed Blu-ray?

The Blu-ray Disc format was developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA), a group of leading consumer electronics, personal computer and media manufacturers, with more than 180 member companies from all over the world. The Board of Directors currently consists of:

Apple Computer, Inc.
Dell Inc.
Hewlett Packard Company
Hitachi, Ltd.
LG Electronics Inc.
Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.
Mitsubishi Electric Corporation
Pioneer Corporation
Royal Philips Electronics
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.
Sharp Corporation
Sony Corporation
Sun Microsystems, Inc.
TDK Corporation
Thomson Multimedia
Twentieth Century Fox
Walt Disney Pictures
Warner Bros. Entertainment

Some are more obvious like nvidia's 3D Vision (Tm)

Some will protect their marks more vigorously than others, but anyone who holds a Tm is obliged to protect their brand.

Panasonic ties with Best Buy for 3D TV promotion

TOKYO (Reuters) - Panasonic Corp will launch its 3D televisions in the United States on Wednesday, and work with top U.S. electronics retailer Best Buy Co to promote the products, the Japanese electronics maker said.

The maker of Viera flat-panel TVs said it expects a 50-inch model to retail for $2,500, and aims to sell 500,000 3D TVs in the United States in the first year of their launch, half its annual global sales target.

Under the joint promotion, Best Buy will set up special sections at its retail outlets, where prospective customers can try out Panasonic's 3D TVs.

Panasonic, the world's No.4 flat TV maker behind Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, LG Electronics Inc and Sony Corp, holds high hopes for 3D TVs as it aims to turn its TV business profitable in the year starting April.

The sci-fi blockbuster "Avatar" and other recent titles have sparked massive interest in 3D movies, raising TV makers' hopes for a strong debut of 3D models.

Shares in Panasonic closed up 2.8 percent at 1,307 yen on Monday, outperforming the Tokyo stock market's electrical machinery index, which gained 2.1 percent.

So do these companies use '3D' domain names ? If they aren't, are they going to buy some on the aftermarket perhaps ?
Because you're in the game to sell domains right ?

It's interesting to see people frantically investing their money in a single niche, it looks like déjà vu... cause it is :gl:

You really can't link to specific seaches on TESS because they expire after a time.

Just hit the back button and find basic search and type in the term.

I tried bookmarking the search page, but it, too, expires.

I'm fairly certain that blu-ray is TM'd, but don't let 3dvisionkits and 3dvisionkit go unless you know for sure. That term sounds generic to me. Do a thorough search on the term--they are good terms. In the meantime, I suggest that you don't monetize until you are sure you are in the clear.

Cheers!

Trademark Violation

If i have 3DBluray(...).com: is it allright?

This domain is definately infringing on the Blu Ray 3D brand.

You should cancel this domain immediately if you want to avoid a cease and desist letter or worse..... A BIG lawsuit

FYI: All you other guys would be well served to search USPTO.gov before registering a domain!

some boat is even missing its captain and regging names out of emotions instead of research. I hate to see next year when time to renew but hey its not coming out of my pocket.

don't jump all because someone jumped. ask yourself why did that person jump and then decide. there's lots of premiums if you use common sense. :]

Descriptive? Which definition may apply?

lemmings is a morphological form of lemming

*
A lemming is an animal that looks like a large rat with thick fur. Lemmings live in cold northern regions and sometimes travel in very large numbers. N-COUNT
*
If you say that a large group of people are acting like lemmings, you are critical of them because they all follow each other into an action without thinking about it.
