Hi guys,

My name is Kevin, been following this forum for quite awhile, but joined because I wanted to share a news. I am a VP of product at Dub.io, which is a small tool that our team has been building for a few weeks.

We wanted to see if we can create a new (and hopefully better) domain parking tool. We've named ourselves "Dub.io" - nice and short. It works like this.

  1. Sign-up and you will get a website - to which, you can of course point your domain to. However, if you don't want to, that's ok. We will give you a Dub.io sub-domain.

  2. Once that's done, you can start "populating" the site with contents. This can come from RSS feeds, YouTube videos or just from the web articles. Dub.io takes care of automatically crawling these and inserting into your site.

  3. Each content can also be automatically tweeted to your designated Twitter account (this will usually bring more traffic and also get you some followers). You can also set up so that it's automatically posted to Blogger or Tumblr sites too.

  4. And of course, you can monetize it. Right now, we allow you to insert your own Google AdSense ads and VigLink code. The best part? You keep all the revenue generated from your sites. We don't take anything.

  5. Each site is all responsive to different screen-sizes. We try to include a variety of media types like images and related videos so contents are more engaging. Right now, we are in a "testing" phase, so everything is free! We would love for you to come and check us out and let me know if you have any questions.
Would love to discuss via this thread or if you have any questions, you can email me at hello @ dub.io

Thank you so much for your time guys.

@offthehandle

We actually use Dub ourselves for parking our own domains and we have had all of our sites fully indexed. I just checked one of my site and it has about 5,000 pages indexed by Google.

One way to accelerate is to submit the site map through Google Webmaster. Setting up Google Webmaster can be done via Dub and you can also find the site map to submit on Dub too (via 'analytics' section).

@Furquah You can turn off reddit for each keyword by clicking on them on and un-checking 'reddit' on the keyword via your admin panel.

I just checked one of my sites - appleinews.com - it has 17 pages listed ... the main page and then a sign in and create an account pages, then 13 news items, and then a GoDaddy parking page.

The main page listing comes first, but Google shows this for the meta description:

Please type in your email address and we will send you an email with an instruction on how to reset your password. Email. Log in. My Account. Username. Email.

So I'm guessing none of this is getting ranked very high ...

@Kpett

A few things

1. You're right. Meta tags have not been properly filled out for the homepage - just fixed this. It will be re-indexed by the Google bot the next time around. We'll also look at the meta tags for all other pages and fix them.

2. Have you added your site map on Google Webmaster? Rather than waiting for Google to find all your pages, you can add them using the site map provided by Dub - it's in the "analytics" settings.

3. The listing is in no particular order - I guess you have to do something like "self-driving car site:appleinews.com" then you'll get relevant contents from your site.

Could anybody give advice about where to get Ad-links from? Or how to get started with that, what to read to understand the basics of this? Honestly tried searching the forum, but when you don’t know what to look for it is hard to find it.

A while ago there was the option to have ads automatically set up at dub.io, but since this is gone I am stuck. Not understanding how to actually getting an advertising link stops me from trying out dub_io more, which I actually would love doing, since so far it is fun and it looks promising.

I tried to signup at PropellerAds, but couldn’t even sign up because my site at dub_io was not considered a valid URL, it seems.
Google Adsense would be the first thing to come to my mind, but I think I was reading somewhere (here at NP), that this would not be a good idea or not even allowed in that case or similar.

Is anybody using Google Adsense on a dub io site?
What other ad services are you using with success at dub io?

@PostProduction Sorry for the late reply and.. my apologies for things not being clear yet. We are in the middle of documenting everything so that our users have better idea on how to get going.

In terms of adding ad items, you can add any type of advertising items - this could be Amazon affiliates, yllix ads etc. Here are some advertising partners you can take a look at.

https://stream-seo.com/best-google-adsense-alternatives/

Can you give me which URL you typed in to ProperllerAds? I'll take a look at it as to why it was not a valid URL.

You can add Google AdSense, provided that the items displayed are submitted manually and original content. But above URL should give you a host of alternatives to Google AdSense.

Like @adamson791 said, you can definitely give VigLink a go.

If you have any questions, please do let me know - you can PM me, or email me directly [email protected]

Once you get your content monetized, which is very easy, You will see some results, I flip my ads on and off , from one to another, I had 74 clicks to a VPN provider i am affiliated with, Out of those 74 clicks, 27 bought a monthly subscription, I am now on monthly residual autopilot of $125 a mo, just off that one affiliate.

The DUB.io platform allows for you to upload your PPC, Affiliate, Intext and ect , with the ability to add multiple providers and rotate them from site to site as you wish, In a couple of minutes of your time.

It is a fantastic superb platform, Patience when setting up is key, It doesn't take long to acclimate and learn the power of the platform, I am still learning, but selling in the process as well.

And, one of the best things that DUB.io offers, Name growth, i mine for domains with age and history, so hand reg and mining is my niche, DUB gives me a great boost in increasing the value of my hand reges, The growth at DUB is 10X faster than using a parking page platform, DUB feeds and waters my names daily for me, Indexing, social media and ect.

I parked 2 domains but after 2 days, they don't resolve. I used nameservers ns1.dub.io and ns2.dub.io , is this correct ? I checked with WHOIS and the nameservers are showing OK. What could be wrong ?

Hi Kevin :)
Was going thru this thread and found it very interesting. That is a great product that you have introduced. I have diverted one of my parked domains to Dub.io, just to try it out.
www.FallingHairSolutions.com

I was having some issues and thought I should share it:

1- When a user clicks on the RSS Feeds on the Navigation Panel, it displays some HTML coding. Could you please check whether this is a problem for all, or is it happening only on my browser (using Chrome)

2- Is there some option, if I do not want the RSS Feeds to display on the Home Page along with my Key word based content ? I had earlier started of only with the Keyword based content which displays on the homepage ( I use the Capitol OR Paris Themes) . As soon as I added my first URL Feed in the RSS section, it filled the homepage with 25 feeds / articles immediately above the other Keyword based content and I felt my home page lost that Visual appeal which it had when only the Keyword based content was being displayed. Do you suggest it would be ok, if we do not display the RSS feeds on the home page since we already have a separate link in the navigation bar for it and users could always click on that whenever required (This is just my opinion / suggestion)

3- I signed up with Yllix.com yesterday. I have already created diff.types of Ad units and linked them under the monetization area. When I go to the website, I have noticed that 90% of the time there is partial display of the adv. I mean, It just shows the empty placeholders with some ads displaying the Download button but other portions of the Ad unit are transparent. Is that a problem from my side (browser , or maybe something else??) OR I should wait for a few more days and Ads will slowly start getting populated??

4- I am trying to sign up with VigLink since yesterday. It accepts my email address and gives a message that you will receive an email confirmation within few minutes, but eventually nothing comes in. I have tried it out 4-5 times using different browsers (including my mobile). Is it a prob. from VigLink side?anybody else facing similar issues?

Apologies for the long post
Thank You for the patience:-D

Hey Kevin,
Do we have the facility to insert codes of InfoLinks (www.infolinks.com) ?? If yes in which area of the Ad Manager can we do it?
Thanks again

Hi Sajid,

Thanks for your message.

1) When you click on the RSS feed, the code you see is the XML content of the RSS feed. RSS feed is not a webpage, but a format that is ingested by RSS readers. Some browsers do display them nicely (e.g. if you use Firefox, I think it displays differently) - but it is not a problem and in a proper format that is consumable by all the RSS readers out there. You can always test this by importing your own RSS feed to any existing RSS readers (e.g. feedly.com)

2) A good suggestion! We are actually working on something to resolve this. Rather than displaying all the contents from one source, we can "mix things up" a bit. On top of that, of course we can do something that you suggested. This is on our list, so should be implemented quite soon.

As a side note, you can also apply a filter on feeds or keywords to ONLY grab contents that have images - this is of course if you want to make sure your posts have images.

3) I'll take a look at your ad settings and try to resolve them for you.

4) That's a bit weird - because when I signed up VigLink confirmed immediately. Not to worry - perhaps we'll wait a little. There is also a host of other ad platforms that you can try. We are planning to write up a document giving you a full list of these platforms, so it's easier for you to sign up. At times, it's a matter of experimenting different ad platforms to see which one works best for you.

If you have any issues, you can always reach me directly on [email protected] - happy to discuss more!

Just signed up after finding this thread. Looks like a pretty good tool. I'm in the process of adding some domains but just wondering if DNS settings will always require using dub.io name servers?

Would be nice if we could use cloudflare which would help mask dub.io as the host. And in turn is a big benefit in terms of SEO. It would also help safeguard against any possible Google penalty in the future against sites hosted at dub.

@BrandStarters

Thanks for your message.

Currently we support 2 ways of DNS change - one is the nameserver change and the other is via CNAME update.

From my understanding Cloudflare offers its own DNS features, with which you can then point to Dub via CNAME as well.

The last method would be to point directly to our IP address - which we haven't made available yet, but it's in the works. :)

We are also building out our DNS features too, so that we can provide a more complete service in the future.

Long story short, as long as you point to Dub's nameservers or the CNAME, you can use any type of DNS service providers you wish including Cloudflare.

I'll PM you for more details and we'll write this up as a documentation in the future too.

Doea dub.io have an option to put your domain for sale while building up the indexes etc?

This would be useful if its something that pops up at the top of the page etc saying the domain is for sale

@stewmath
Hi, yes it does; you can put a sale banner on the top of the page; isn't too impresive but I guess Kevin is working on it

Can I just add a cname to divert the name to mydubsitename.dub.io and leave the dns? Do I need to enter the other dns settings or just have this single field with a * or @?

@saj110 Oops! Missed that one. Let me look into this for you. I'll most likely need to try infolinks myself. And will let you know!

@stewmath @saj110 beat me to answering your question. :) And we are definitely working on the sales banner for you to customize.

@tdwuk Yes you can. You can just add one CNAME that points to your Dub site and it can be anything "whatever.mydomain.com". You just need to make sure you configure Dub so that we know what the "whatever" prefix is. You can set that in the "domain" settings page.
