It seems that 3D is going to be the the next must have technology, according to the big brands, they are all launching 3D TVs.

I attempted to find good 3D names but the best domains are already taken, I think in 5 years time or even less, those generic 3D domains will be worth a lot. :imho:

Anyone else registering 3d domains? Do you think they have a future?

That would be a feature added to existing real estate sites. Not something that you build a new site around.

Look at the 360 degree virtual tours that came out several years ago. Should a real estate company have branded a site around that? Of course not, and they won't do it with 3D either.

Once again you have all the answers and again you just don't get it.

let's see if 3-D domains take interest -- obviously, based on the myriad posts on this thread, there's some interest :)
More importantly, let's see if 3D domains take interest from people willing to pay real money for them. The supporters here wouldn't pay $50 for their own domains.

You have absolutely no concept of branding. You don't take an existing brand, dump it and add 3D at the end. You have already said that Toys.com is going to become Toys3D.com and Business.com is going to rebrand Business3D.com. This is so stupid that it's not even worth arguign with you over.

99% of 3d brandables will fail.

30% of 3d product/generics will stand a good chance of a nice payday.

This is only a guestimate, but its my gut feeling.

Gut feeling? Look at the thread below with all the dropped 3d names. That gives you an idea how dead in the water most are. Some registries made good money though.

(Available 3d domains) thread

Its ok to have missed the boat, but don't try and dampen the thread. Try and have a constructive argument if any at all.

I wish everyone the best. They can spend their money how they like. Who started the dropped 3d domain thread? If the 3d names where so good then why would people drop them?

Link to thread for all those that want to gather them up. >>> 3d

As far as "missing the boat" there is some who are glad they never sailed on the Titantic. I've found a different niche boat.

Nice to see ralph found this thread to ;)

Btt, i have what i think some high end ones. Some examples:

3dmovieforum.com
3dmovienews.com
3dmoviemagazine.com
3dhometheaters.com
3dhometheatre.com
3dhomecinema.com
3dblurays.com

and even some high end dutch/belgium and german keyword domains i have been collecting..

Hope to develop some. Others i will sell.

And i just noticed sony has an affiliate program paying 4% of sold goods, worth a try i guess in this area of consumer products.

you have fully understood the 3d concept and should pfofit from it , i noticed 3daffiliate/com is gone , can you supply a link to the sony affiliate program ? .........thanks

There was a segment on Sunday Morning CBS today about 3-D -- according to Jeffrey Katzenburger (former Disney COO and current Dreamworks founder), all of their animated films in dev will be 3D -- and he feels 3D will capture the majority of the motion picture box office in about 4 -5 years

Found some more 3D names that I regged -- again, I feel most of these names will take time, to gain in value (and again, that's not for certain)

3Dconferencecall.com
3Dconsolegame.com
3Dconsolegames.com
3Dconsolegaming.com
3Dlocalsearch.com
3Drealcam.com
Broadcasting3D.com
Celebrity3D.com
Feature3D.com
Message3D.com
Screening3D.com
Shows3D.com
3DSportsnow.com

let's see if 3-D domains take interest -- obviously, based on the myriad posts on this thread, there's some interest :)

any tm issures with 3drealcam ? they supplied the 3d glasses when i watched avatar '3dreal'

We need to keep things in perspective as far as the expectations of the future potentials for 3d domains. The resurrection of the 3d is obviously happening as we speak with movies such as Avatar and Alice in wonderland. There is a good probability that this new and more advanced 3d technology is going to spill over to other areas such as games, sports, and real estate (just to mention a few) in ways that are both logical and practical. Most people here are basically speculating that there will be some interest in their 3d domains from end-users who want to gain an edge in their respective markets by emphasizing on the 3d aspect of the products and services that they provide. That doesn’t mean that these domains are going to dominate all the markets or that people are going to abandon their existing websites to get a 3d domain, it just means that there could be some real value to some of the better and more useful 3d domains. How valuable are they going to be, I guess that’s what most people here are speculating on. IMO

I have spent the past 24 hours registering 3D domains. I haven't even gone to bed. This is the break I have been waiting for, and I'll stay up for days if I have to.

Very few times in our lives do amazing oppurtunities spring up. Folks, this is one of them. Those of us intelligent enough to jump on this are going to be living on a beach somewhere in the Caribbean in 5 years.

DO NOT BE FAZED by the "old guard" telling you otherwise. Time is about to pass these dinosaurs by. This right here is what is going to allow a new breed of domainers to take this industry over completely. We are going to send these guys into retirement shortly. They had a good run, but now it's our turn.

I know all about branding xfinity, clear etc. I see many new players coming in the market and they will gain an edge with 3D domain names IMO

Classic post. Every domainer craze is drawing a new wave of newcomers along.
You will find exactly the same kind of argument in the 'official' .mobi or .tel threads... but this thread is taking hype to a new level.

No offense, but you cannot imagine the entertainment when we are watching the insanity unfold from our front row seats.
Go ahead, quit your day job ASAP and register as many 3D domains as you can, you are on the way to retirement on a sunny beach with piña colada aplenty...

Welcome to Namepros anyway, and enjoy the ride :gl:

3dplaying is nice

anyone with any sales, offers, or development

Thanks D-K that’s reassuring to know that someone with experience thinks it’s ok, I am still a total know nothing noobie and after probably just wasting a fair bit on stuff I now know I probably shouldn’t have, have been questioning my judgement a fair bit recently, but yeah I think it’s ok especially if this 3d thing does take off like many think it will, I actually registered it just last week, so maybe there are still some pretty ok ones out there especially if you are looking for domains for development, just don’t expect anything too amazing I guess that ship probably sailed a while back. Anyway although I don’t know much about domaining, hopefully I am not a total ignoramus in every aspect of life and I personally think the 3d thing will be pretty big, tv, films, computer games, ect. I think it’s just a matter of time, I remember thinking years back why isn’t the 3d thing bigger and thought that one day it would be. As long as they use the right glasses though, those clear grey style ones are fine, but recently here in Blighty channel 4 did a 3d week and the glasses they gave us were absolutely appalling, they were the ones that used different coloured lenses, I think they were like a blue and brownie colour or something, but they were hideously uncomfortable to wear, they were like a bad trip and after a while just made you feel really out of sorts. I don’t know what the ones are like that they hand out for things like avatar, my cinema apparently did not have the facilities, but the right type of glasses is important to me.

So yeah I think it’s got good potential, but at the same time I would not go overboard, I wouldn’t mortgage my house or anything.

Telling me to stop? I don't think so! You aren't taking this away from me.

180 so far. A few years ago I had a dream that I was registering a ton of domains in one shot and then sold them for wealth beyond what anyone here is capable of knowing. That was the sign to do this. Earlier on today I dozed off in my chair and had what you might call a vision. I won't say what I saw, but it has led me down a new direction in 3D domains. One that nobody has gone to yet. I will own that market.

I think the two maybe even closer related. 2 posts from this "person" and same " ive been domaing for all of two and a half minutes and know more than the entire domaining experience of people that have been successfully domaining for years fuxx you all attitude"

Wouldnt take a forensic writing expert to figure out who this "new" person is.
