This could truly be a big competitor to .COM (especially being a "typo").
I would say with proper guidance .CO could REALLY have a bright future!

the reaction i am having before the landrush after ordering 2 domains with Name.com is ******
no reply.. no info.. no nothing... most of you have some kind of clue about whaz going on...

but as the .co official website states..

all pre-orders are in general accepted at the registries. They will then queue the domains and send them in 5 hours from now when the market opens. There is NO guarantee that you will get a domain as it is first come first served, and if you are no. 10.000 in queue at Godaddy, then your request will be send in as no 10.000. I don´t know if they only accept unique orders. Doesn´t appear to.

IT doest work that way... Each domain name have a number.

It's by chronological orders... If you pre-reged a domain name via general on June 20th at godaddy and some guy pre-order general on June 21th at name.com.... You win the domain.

I am shocked that a country with such a fine reputation as Colombia would have such a shady allocation process.

This was so predictable to start with. The only people who make money with new extensions are the registry, and a handful of insiders and people who are able to game the system.

If you look at the domains with backorders on Pool they are all almost obvious TM typo domains.

Only a matter of time before .OM (Oman) allows open regs on their typo friendly extension as well.

Sometimes I think the sleazy reputation the domain world has is well deserved.

Where are you getting this information? Its definately not whoever preregisters first gets it first via the registry. Its going to be a massive columbian registry flood of requests. Its first come first serve.

If you reserved your name at a registrar that allows only one pre reg per domain you have an equal chance.

You never know whats going to work.. Just add a Luck factor to your names and you may sell 3 word domains for big $
