I've just been contacted by the person who hacked my gmail. He was asking money to give me back. He changed passwords on some of my accounts and I could only retreive account at godaddy by phone. There is still more than 100 names that he can control now.
Can anybody tell me any phone number of google , I have google ads account also and money on it but I just can't find any phone for contact.

Please help me :(

gingeman - can you enlighten the uneducated? How does clicking on a link in one of those emails make your account vulnerable?

If you can prove who his host is and who the registrar is,
send them both emails regarding his activities.
The host will have something in their TOS about illegal
activities. Proxy or not...they still host him
Through past experience, they will shut him down
if your persistent!
Especially if you mention you weren't aware they allowed
this kind of activity!

I'm always afraid of logging into public computers, so I rarely do.

I have had a keylogger on my PC in the past, I've had such a trauma I still type random characters thru the password whenever I log into Gmail, doesn't help toomuch but I know that can be a pain in the ass for a keylogger-hacker to decypher your password ;)

fyi...for my own security I have my emails forwarded through a gmail account. I use for an address on my whois an email from a domain I own. I forward that email to gmail. If hacker gains control of gmail..I just stop forwarding the mail and I regain control in that manner. It's layered protection. You can actually do this a few times...it hides your box location. Hackers need entry to your email and password account. Even if they obtained mine...it would get them nowhere fast. I would notice emails not being forwarded very quickly and they would be cut off before any transfers could take place.

Anyways...sorry to hear about your troubles. How much is he asking for btw? Maybe you should negotiate a cheap price because if you are out 100 domains you're sort of screwed.

No I got everything back :)
First thing I did when he contact me was calling godaddy, because he start blackmail with story that he will sell all my domains if I don't give him $2500 . While he was talking I was already on the phone with godaddy and in 20 min my account was back ;) Then I was trying to get back my gmail and I found aplication for cases like my and fill it but I didn't expect fast answer so I made this topic to try to find any phone of google. On my big surprise I got answer from google in 15-20 min and get my account back. After that I called paypal , got account back also, and rest was easy. Anyway I've learn my lesson and I will not use public email in this purpose any more. The old email is now only for contact with friends :)

btw, thanks for your advice , I am sure I will do this in future ;) rep added

thats good to hear :)
also have u installed a firewall, antivirus (probably internet suite) and spyware scanner on ur machine?
I know they are terriblyl irritating as they slow things down, but they do protect you against all the trojan / spyware stuff.

I have both alphashield and a router...although I don't know how hackers get into computers from the internet, I hope the router plus alphashield combo would make it very difficult. Also don't have the email admin contact for your domains the same as the email contact you use to communicate with the registrar that you have your domains with...so if someone looks up your email in the whois, they still won't have the email you use to communicate with the registrar.

:bingo:

note to op:
you need to check your computer for trojan/spyware or keylogger
also change passwords to other account that he does not yet know.
also don't use the same passwords on all sites.

next thing to do is report to gmail.com support and tell them that your email has been hacked and if need be quote the password you set on them
http://www.google.com/url?q=https:/...=title&usg=AFQjCNEk9Maxd2_jb0h-867fbxuIRwttxw
in my experience with my own email account @nabaza.com they usually reset the password to something else and then email it to an alternative email that you will specify, i don't know if it will work the same on gmail, just try it. anyways since im also the postmaster.

Glad everything worked out for you zems.

There's a free, very detailed email security test at gfi.com/emailsecuritytest I've found this tool very helpful in the past. Also, threatfire.com has a great free malware program

Someone just reset my account at parked fro this IP:

75.127.117.18

It is 100% the same person. As I can see it is not proxy, so if anyone can try to find more information it would be great.

Thank you

Hi sorry- missed this.

I'm afraid I don't really know. I believe there is a security flaw in internet explorer and hotmail which allows the hacker to gain access to your account when you visit their site, but I don't know any more detail than that- sorry!
