I'm sorry but joining or not joining an organization says nothing about a seller. Some just don't see the point & are ok without it. This doesn't make them any less of a seller.

You are correct that it doesn't make you any less of a seller, if you don't join. However, as pointed out by Fonzie above, it can sure help your credibility as a seller, and help close a deal. To me, that is worth the $7 bucks. Heck, I waste lots more than that on domains I think will be great, and aren't worth a darn. I'm sure everyone has wasted money on one bad domain. Why not invest the price of one domain one something that may help you sell domains. My opinion only, of course. Everyone is entitled to there own, and how they want to spend their money.

It simply indicates you agreed to operate in an ethical manner. Not joining doesn't necessarily mean you won't, but the postive statement could have some influence on potential customers. It's much like sites that carry the BBB (Better Business Bureau) seal. it means they support the values of the organization and will let the organization try to help resolve disputes.

no big deal, if joining a regulated body gives you even the tiniest bit of kudos then it can only be good. Im sure in time (as with all governing bodies) there will be a winner or a single definitive body (DNF witht their own similar program), but until such time NP and the DNOA have done the right thing by throwing their hat into the ring.

But I agree with Mark, not joining doesnt mean you have any lesser morals than the next man. I am a member (as you can see) but if I werent Id like to think that nigh on 10years of successful and honest domain trading (with testimonials if necessary) should hold me in good stead..

For $6.95/year (£4), it's worth it just for the whois privacy alone, not to mention all the other member benefits.

I've already used it for my namepros, godaddy, dotster, dynadot, resellers.co.in, registerfly, enom AND GKG domains. It's saved me a fortune. You can't tell me that's not worth it.

In what form does this "privacy" appear? Putting DNOA's address and details? If things are so genuine, why would you have to hide behind a barrier anyway? Just set up a spam stopper in the form of verification before the email is put in your inbox. - FREE Privacy

To me, it is $6. Anyone paying $6 to try to look professional isn't working hard enough.

It means no more than a free Namepros Membership, which is for the record, better. You can easily look at a users trader rating, past sales and how the actually conduct themselves with the NamePros Forum.

You must be joking. DNOA does make money, but it does have loads of benefits and if you decided to use them all, then it is not a scam, if you dont, then you can call it a scam all you like, but we are all members and we so far are liking what we are getting. Thanks to the DNOA label at the bottom of my name, i finally got a successful transaction after the bad TR i was getting last year.. (which btw i have changed now otherwise i wouldnt look towards DNOA for help).

i wouldnt be a DNOA if it was not to morphmaster for referring me. So really i should thank morphmaster and -RJ- for this amazing idea.

Perfectly fine if it's not something you are interested in participating, but labeling our organization as a scam is completely out of line.

DNOA is a nonprofit corporation, run solely by unpaid volunteers. No one is out to scam anyone.

As RJ mentioned, no one in the organization is paid, and the money is just sitting in an account, so I don't see how you can call it a scam. The WHOIS privacy alone is worth $6.95, not to mention the seal which helps you promote integrity and professionalism within the domain industry, something that is severely lacking with the majority of the industry.
