discuss Will .IM evolve to mean Intelligent Machine, Inference Microservices?

The .im extension could take a page out of the .ai playbook and embrace a new meaning for its acronym’s dated origin.

I propose the Isle of Man should try to associate with Intelligent Machine / Model or Inference Microservice (see NVIDIA’s recent NIM offering).

What say you?

Should .im rebrand itself to better align with advancements in tech like a.i. or continue to fade to irrelevance by clinging to Instant Messaging?

Discuss.

Or, just no.

Reminds me of that other excuse, dot-ml: machine learning

I think these are stretches to try and rationalize opportunity which is cool but probably doesn't fit the big picture in lasting and profitable investments.

Remember when .im was for Instant Messaging? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

I am 100% sure IM will not get even close to AI. There is huge trend that many tech startups now go after .ai domains as their main domain... I am not seeing this for .im ... but agree relating to Intelligent Machine is much better then staying at Instant Messaging.

I'm sure if the Ise-of-man were offered millions of dollars to allow a take over of their Country code, they'll take it. But can't ever see it happening. That sort of magic isn't going to happen for what is basically a sector of AI
