In the appraisal forum I will see a 40$ reseller price and an 80$ end user price...

Can someone explain this?

Thanks.

Reseller is a business person that buy low and sell high.

End user is a possible customer that buy domains in retail value.

Hope this help.

End users are cheap ... domainers are cheaper, generally speaking! :p :imho:

i know this would sound strange but i compare it as a wholesale buyer of the product versus retail buyer. In this case retail buyer would be an end user :). End user pays the most.

Many end users buy domains with a development idea/plan behind it.

reseller=domainers
enduser=actual businesses that will use name to build a brand around or add it to their inventory, ie: sears buying appliances.com for their use

Resellers are the ones who think they will make their fortune selling domains made from short strings of random characters and alleged to be "brandable" and "pronounceable".

End users are the ones who have a business plan and are looking for a domain to build it on. They are almost mythical creatures, seldom seen on this forum, who are purported to pay big bucks for "brandable" and "pronounceable" domain names.

The disconnect in world views of the two camps are fascinating :)
