Note: I posted this last night on the Webhosting Topics board, and am reposting here in hopes of getting a quicker answer. The potential customer is chomping at the bit.
A friend of my cousin needs some webspace and has asked me to accomodate him. Although I have an eNom resellers acct and use ResellerZoom for server space, providing hosting for someone else is a new experience.
The site is very off the wall- for example, it has been referenced and gets visited by the Howard Stern Show.
It receives approx 100 visits/da. It is offline ATM, and I vaguely remember that the reason for this is that the webmaster had a goin w/ the host because the servers went down a few times for extended periods and ultimately, the host totally flaked.
He says he needs 10 Gigs of space and a monthly bandwidth allowancece of 100 Gig. (His site has an abundant amt of graphics, unusual videos etc. and as I understand it, he's got some expansion plans.)
I'll be visiting here w/ more questions, but for starters:
- How much should I be charging? Going rate? Friendly rate?
- Do I set up a package and than an account for the domain the same as I do for my own sites or is a subaccount involved? I use cPanel.
Thanks.
