Hey.
I have Adobe Illustrator CS2 - and I have just bought the new Wacom Intuos 3 A5 tablet.
I have just installed it - all well there but when I tried to go into Adobe Illustrator to see whats the difference, I didnt see any.
Does anyone else use Wacom with Illustrator here? If so, I was wondering what was the difference that you found that Wacom has advantages?
Thanks.

It depends what tool you're using, specifically, but just to double check, is all the software for the wacom installed? I used a wacom once (on someone else's computer) and was having some problems with it (pressure wasn't working, for example) and it turned out he hadn't installed everything - just the basic drivers.

Illustrator would definitely use certain features of the wacom, such as pressure sensitivity, tilt, etc. These features would likely not work on all tools, but, for example, the brush tool would definitely make use of it. Play around with tool settings and make sure pressure sensitivity and other wacom options are on (paintbrush tool should *not* be set to "fill new brush strokes"); create new brushes and just have fun! :)

Personally, I don't do a whole lot of vector work that would really make use of the wacom - photoshop work, however is loads of fun!! It's full-blown painting and illustration! All the powers of the brush with no mess! Once you start, there's no going back!

Enjoy!!
