Hello there,

I've just designed a new webpage for my web design company. Can you please tell me... what do you think about it?

I'll be quick, this: http://www.w3bmedia.com/images/header_home.jpg is too big.

And why is there a paragraph of unreadable text on it?

Hey Rowan, that paragraph is for a futuristic look somehow :bingo:
We think that is attractive. The header is big indeed, but that's why it is so special :cy:

well I must say that your website DOES look like a template....if you genuinely designed it, maybe you should design some tmplates coz that resembles one I'm afraid - not a good tool for promoting a dsign company

Well :-/ Can you show me some webdesign company sites that doesen't look like templates? I don't know what makes you feel like my site is a template. It's a normal webpage

W3BMedia, you seem to me to be very defensive about your site. I think you should take on board some of the advice given here as it is very good and reliable advice.

You have to learn, that your site is not about what you want, its about what your clients want. YOU may think that paragraph may look "futuristic" as you call it (though I can't see how ;)), but your prospective clients, the people who really matter, may find it hard to read and complex - not what you want for a business site!

Same follows for the header, you may think that it is special, clients may think it is cumbersome and detracts from the site.

Rollovers are basically a necessity for any good site nowadays and a few people in this thread have recommended them to you and yet, still, you have not implemented them.

There is no line space between that text, making it very difficult to read and also, you have overused the "bold" feature!

As I say, take advice, there are lots of people here a hell of a lot more experienced than you, learn from them, they are here to help you! Don't get mad at me, I am not trying to flame you, merely trying to provide advice (just like everyone else on this forum!).

Well, will7, don't I have to say what my opinions are? Or I just have to stay and say nothing...

When making sites from a business standpoint, it is not about you or what you like - that's for personal portfolios. You have to make it appeal to clients and thats the bottom line.

In this thread, yes, of course you can voice your opinion, but there are some things that people have suggested which relate to the first bit of this post - if you implemented what is suggested, it would make the site better from the client-end.

wow, I just read this entire thread and you know what I noticed?

W3BMedia, you came back with an excuse for every suggestion given to you. So, why even post? What?... so you can get a few pats on the back?

Oh, that's right... you said in your initial post, "let me know what you think". Of course, You told xtreme-forums to "not teach you things about webdesign" when he told you "what he thought".

Perhaps next time you should add the phrase "compliments only" to your post.

And I agree with Ebuzz... you're a plagerist. If I was planetout.com, I'd be filing a lawsuit instead of typing this. And I'm a professional artist... I know a thing or 2 about these things.

Lol, I don't think W3B has mastered the ancient chinese, long kept secret of "learning from others". Heheh. A lot of people here who know what they're talking about (me being one of them, not being arrogant, but ;)), and he should listen. They are not drastic things, but they will change the look of his site for the better!

LOL - He apparently knows what he's talking about. After all, he has 18 years of experience with webdesign. Oops (sorry)... I meant he has 18 years of...umm... life.

Lol. He has not taken in anything we've said. Hasn't changed his site, says he can do "such good sites" but doesn't even do rollovers?!?!?!?!? Rollovers are like, the basicest of basic, heh.

Ah well, people will learn from their mistakes I guess.
