Hello,

I wanted to start this thead to get some politics going. Do you feel we should've invaded Iraq? Do you feel now that we have Hussein, that we should return our troops? Do you feel that there still is weapons of mass distruction somewhere?

I'll go first,

Yes, I feel we should've invaded Iraq. They are a threat to our beautiful nation.

I do not feel we should return our troops. Personally, I feel the war has only begun. We are re-building the society and government for Iraq citizens and we should stay till completion.

I do feel that even though people say no weapons of mass distruction were found, we did get at least one of them. We got Hussein, he has been a threat to our society ever since George W. Bush's father came into presidency.

Now it's your turn, I am studying to be in government and I want to express my views, as well as everyone elses.

Your poll (and what about this thread?) is mainly for Americans/Brits, then? Your 'we' and 'our troops' only refers to those small parts of the world population, that were l(i)ed to believe it was necessary to 'invade' Iraq..

'Nuff said. :D

Im still here and there on the subjects but just to make it more clear, realize that not all of us are from the US on this board so it might confuse some with the use of "we."

They, Iraq, were never a threat to the US. In fact they were allies of the US till the Reagan/Bush regime no longer had use for the ruthless Saddam. This is no secret and can be corroborated easily over the net.

True, the US is now obligated to rebuild Iraq but realize the toll this will take on the US's resources, resources that could have better been spent on perfecting our own society. Again, this is a needless expense.

I do feel that even though people say no weapons of mass distruction were found, we did get at least one of them. We got Hussein, he has been a threat to our society ever since George W. Bush's father came into presidency.

I urge you to learn the history of Iraq under Saddam Hussein .

I think you'll be surprised just how big of a hand the US had in promoting this monster. Also keep in mind that George W. Bush's father was director of Central Intelligence and head of the Central Intelligence Agency from 30 January 1976 to 20 January 1977 and played important roles in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Now it's your turn, I am studying to be in government and I want to express my views, as well as everyone elses.

gb, why do you want to be in government?

Because I am a sophmore in high school, I havn't mastered everything yet. Also, I posted this for US people, if you aren't from the US, don't post here. PainPerdu, is your biggest thing to bash people, I didn't ask you to correct everything I said, I said POST YOUR OPINIONS... I posted mine... I don't want a life story about Hussein... Gosh man, trying to take the fun out of this

Painperdu didn't bash your thread. He merely answered you point by point. Isn't this what you wanted?

Also, I posted this for US people, if you aren't from the US, don't post here.

Well, there's no way you can keep non-US people out of your thread, and something like this won't be left alone.

Gosh man, trying to take the fun out of this

Soldiers and civilians die in Iraq everyday. Fun, you say? This is a serious matter, not meant to be "fun".

Im quite glad I live in Sweden and that have stay out of war for a very long time.

My opinion about the Iraqi war is following.

USA made up several reasons to go into Iraq, many lies.
Was it really a war cause It doesnt seem that Iraq had any defense ?

The good thing is that USA will kill alot lesser Iraqi people every year. Cause they can give the sick medicine and they dont have to bomb the country everyday.

I am glad we went into Iraq. After Sep11 there needed to be a few changes going on, no longer should countries be able to be a threat to the West (Iraq) or hide away building weapons of mass destruction (North Korea).

I am firmly agreed that the war has only just begun...

By the way, I am a Brit!

gbcarter...when you post your opinions, you should expect someone who is passionate about theirs, to try to debunk your argument. after all, a discussion is always about trying to get other people to see your own viewpoint. I did not see any personal attacks on you, merely the other person's opinion and why he has that opinion.

I thought that was the point of this thread gbcarter4103. If you want to be able to express other peoples views then first you have to learn the art of listening to them or as here, reading their views carefully. As Armstrong said, painperdu merely debunked your theory point by point which is what, I am led to believe, a debate is all about.

I posted this for US people, if you aren't from the US, don't post here

Does this mean that all the british troops can come home then - I'll be sure to let Tony Blair know that next time I see him down the pub

I havn't mastered everything yet

no kidding!

Anyway here is my 2 NP$

Both the US and the UK governments lied to us about the reasons to go to war. They have repeatedly shown that they cannot be trusted and their reasonings have now sunk into the ludicrous.

I do not support the war in Iraq however I do support our troops that are out there - just not the governments that sent them. I support the troops as the last thing they need when they are under the pressure that they are under every day is to think that the people of their nation are against them as well. They have enough to deal with.

Now that they are out there we are stuck with a Devils Alternative - if we pull out, then the region will descend into chaos. If we remain, then more of our troops are going to die. Damned if we do and damned if we don't. I have no solution but hope that one is found soon.

Debating politics is a serious business gbcarter4103 - it is not about fun. In any political discourse it has to be remembered that there are real people behind the debates - NOT a laughing matter

they should have just dropped the nukes and turn iraq into one big parking lot ..JMO

Interesting to see somebody saying that, I've said similar things on other forums and have been banned.

I came here knowing there is no free speech on forums anymore so keep my mouth shut, but good on you, inflames. :)

So its not ok to hate them for what they did?

I wont get into a debate because I know, like I said above, there is no free speech on forums these days, but if they are a threat to us I'd rather wipe the country off the face of the earth than risk any of my people getting killed.

Rob, I doubt the admins of namepros will ban you for speaking your mind, short of posting porn or vulgarity. Also, you should exercise freedom of speech regardless of what others do or say about it.

I have been a member of many forums. I have been banned from many, also.

Any time something religious or political comes up, it is ok for people to say they love muslims, jews, christians or whatever, but if somebody says they hate them you are on the road to being chucked off. Already had 2 listings for domains removed on here because they are considered offensive to some people.

I dont want to be banned from here because I think this is a really good forum so I am keeping my mouth shut!

It's one thing to personally dislike someone - hating an entire race/religion/ethnicity even if you keep it to yourself - the only reason I can see it reasonable getting kicked is if you're advocating genocide.

also... what exactly did "they" do? Despite all their efforts, there simply are no facts supporting the assertion that Iraq had anything to do with 9/11.
