I dont claim to be a professional appraiser by any stretch, but i do think you should hold on to this one for a while. I work in a media streaming company and I could tell you that this industry is growing. Video streaming is here, and im certian it will become much more popular in the near future. You may have found a real gem.

Good Luck!

I saw this in the available list, and thought about getting it myself.
Personally I think it is a good name to have, and I agree that you should do some research, develop, and hold on to it.

Nice name.
Good luck.

I saw this after you regged it - pick of the litter! VidCall is short and sweet and easy to recall. I think this one is a keeper for a better portfolio. Jamie comes through again with EXCELLENT domain lists and I agree with everyone. I would expect immediate reseller pricing to be in the low xxx ($100-200) but with future development in this industry and growth - I expect this name will reach the thousand dollar figure with due time and has excellent potential to find an end-user. Good pickup

Thank you for the detailed appraisals, domainspade.

After missed ClickNClick.com, I got this one from Jamie's list :)

Hope you could find some gem next, lets bookmark Jamie!

lol! Absolutely - I watch that thread like a hawk when Im online. Hes an incredibly generous domainer and for him to share his lists with us is incredible. Ive already recieved several offers on ClickNClick and I'll probably be selling it within the next 48 hours. He'll definetly be getting some extra NB's for that!

Any in regards to the appraisal, always welcome! My pleasure to give a detailed appraisal to an active poster!

Yah, I think I just happened to catch that list right after he posted it - I was so exstatic that one was available. I set a BIN on it for $200 - I figure itll reach that at namepros - its already just about there. But hey, you beat me to this one (by quite a bit, offline most of the day today) But I'd rather lose it to another active NPer then one of the newbies.

idea

I have an idea:

To get a better understanding of the value of this domain, why not run a hypethetical auction? The idea is simple: Whenever you post a response to this thread, also add what you would hypethetically pay for vidCall.com right now if anything. There is no obligation from the owner or the bidders to engage in any transaction. Everybody wins because everybody gets to know the names approximate immidiate resale value.

I recommend that owntype does not bid on his own name for obvious reasons.

I will start:

Although I speculate it may be worth a lot more, I would currently pay 25 dollars to buy vidCall.com. Is Anayone willing to pay more?

Also, I expect that this domain is actually worth heigh $XX to low $XXX if sold as is today. As with most investments, it is difficult to see what sort of value it may hold in the future. I will give it some more thought.

My "apprasial" is really just speculation. But at least now you have proof that your name is worth at least $25.00. If you think about it, that is pretty good ROI right off the bat. Twenty Five bucks is double your reg fee at GoDaddy.

Kub -

Very interesting concept - I think its worth considering and so I will contribute. The only Issue I have is that every domainer approaches domain buying with a different perspective and direction. Some might buy for long term investment or short term - others to build a site.

From my perspective I typically buy domains for a longer term investment. I personally buy names at pennies of what I consider their value to be (if possible) I believe this name would fetch a great price down the road, my belief is based off of my understanding of the market and this name, what I personally would pay is based on my personal motives, not those of the broader market.

Considering this, I would (if I wanted to acquire the name) buy it for no more than $75.00 - But I do not function like all domainers - and at that price I consider this domain name an absolute steel!

I like your concept Kub, but am not sure on the current figure.

I can see this going for perhaps mid (or higher, to right buyer!) $x,xxx down the track.

I don't know about the rest of the world, but video calling on mobiles (via 3G and NextG networks) in Australia is really taking off. I would highly recommend holding this domain.

Thanks,
James

Thank you Kub, I mean alot. I do appreciate the kind appraisements. I like your concept and your provided ROI does make me happy. I always pick up the best in my list for a long hold, I can see the huge potential in video calling, and vidcall.com is highly brandable, I just checked company databases, some registered company use this as company's name.

Hey, domainspade, thank you very much for focusing on this thread. It is difficult to reg a new domain or catch a dropped domain that make sense and get ROI soon nowadays. I am with you on the concept of paying pennies for a domain and get pounds back.

Thank you James, 3G has run in U.K for 2 - 3 years, personally I use it quite offen because its cheap, with O2 plan, 35 pounds/month I got 1000 minutes inclusive video calling minutes to O2 3g users. Its a bargain because it is still in the promotion period, but yes, it is the trends of calling in near future. :hi:
