.us US Gov't taking over .US?

My initial impression is that it's bad because the government moves much slower then the private sector and therefore would take longer to promote it and build it.

I think they're just putting it out to bid. They have no intention of running it themselves.

Anything HAS to be better than neustar. They don't enforce rules unless you provoke them to with thousands of emails.

I say go US gov't take it over and kick all the israeli's from catching the drops.

My guess is, another private venture possibly Vrsn will step in to win the bid.

Yep, that is what is going on. The quotes are due July 30. I informed Google of the opportunity...
