Unique Visitors - what time scale?

Site Traffic Natural (type-ins)
In some cases you won't have access to this information.
If you have access to the log files of your host you can obtain the numbers of type-ins quite easily.
type-ins are the number of visitors you get per month without a referring URL.
i.e.(Unique IPs without referrers)
It should be noted that type-ins are an estimated value and in some cases arguably not relevant to valuation.

10-39 natural type-ins add .5 to your Market Rating.
40-100 natural type-ins add 1.0 to your Market Rating.
100+ natural type-ins add 1.5 to your Market Rating.

My question is...

Daily? Monthly?

Unique visitors are counted daily. As an oversimplied example, if your website receives visits from 50 different people, then the next day receives visits from the same 50 people as the previous day, that would count as 100 unique visitors.

This is according to the most popular stats program, webalizer. I can add up my unique visitors for every day and get the same number they give as unique visitors for the month.

I can't. I have for 4 days: 190, 1037, 1144, 639 (first and second are partial days) and so far my total is displaying: 1899

I guess what I'm adding up, Webalizer counts as 'visits'. When I add up the daily vistis, it matches the monthly visits on the summary page.

Which numbers are you using KK? The 'sites' stats would give you the unique IP addresses right?

OK now you guys are getting deeper than I meant.

I was wondering whether the 10-39 is 10-39 per day or 10-39 per month.. Otherwise if you have 10 daily uniques, do you fall in this category or the 100+ since 10 x 30 days = 300?

Now you're talking about the differences between "daily uniques" in a month and "monthly uniques" (the former being each day's unique count added together and the latter counting uniques across the month, meaning if you visit on the 1st and 31st, you'd count as 2 daily uniques but only 1 monthly unique)...

Anyways, for February, my webalizer says:
Total Visits 343,320
and the adding of the day values come within 500 of that number as well.

But how does this classify as "Site Traffic Natural (type-ins)"? I have a lot of linking sites/referrers...

I had 413,605 hits without a referrer but that's hits...

I've worked on adjusting what's logged so my "free content" views on other people's sites don't count - it should be only when they eyeball the site itself...

But of course I'm looking to quantify my little domains... The ones where I get x type-ins per day with nothing developed.
