Yes I know this is a .TV site, as as you know all too well I LOVE .TV BUT I wanted your opinions on this from a .TV point of view?

I came across a bunch of city TV------.com city names that were left. To me these are certainly worth reg fee with the explosion of online video content and just wanted other peoples opinions on them as far development potential as ideas.

Yes I know these need to be developed to work well. But keep in mind if you go to google and search "Detroit tv" or "tv Detroit" the same search result will show up.

There is no way these names should be unregistered this late in the game IMO For branding potential alone they are worth it.

Keep in mind look at sites like www.televisionnewyork.com

Also keep in mind that IMO while TVcleveland.tv sounds and seems redundant, TVcleveland.com doesn't IMO

At worst it is a non expensive hedge.

I pretty much went through the top 100 cities and these are the ones that were left.

Well I certainly like Citytv.com even Citytv.org or countrytv.com/.net/.org This is an interesting spec I don't know if I would call it a hedge unless you owned those cities in .tv already. But for $70 bucks 10 of them might be worthwhile

Another spec is LLLTV.com's I actually regged LLLTV.com the actual Letter L it gets 10 to 20 uniques a day.

I also regged an LLLtv.com last april when I saw the .tv go up it has taken a year but now the domain getting big type ins from 100 to 200 a month and $6 on SEDO this month so far 900 and 224 clicks for $76

Its like years ago when UFC used UFC.tv UFCTV.com not owned by UFC had an ovt with extension of 1200 that is a huge number and it was a plain parked page not even any graphics

Funny, I have been wondering who Poodleman was, Then he posted one .tv name I do recognize... I see you posted ipaddress.tv in your sales thread. The only onther place I hve seen this name is DNF. Millers, Its funny you said "the bank account of a rockefella" If I had to guess, I would say Poodleman goes by the name Rockefella at DNF! As he had posted ipaddress.tv previously. Am I right or wrong? That would be ironic huh! :lol:

Oh and the _______tv.com/ TV______.com thing is an acceptable concept, but it only seems to prfitable if you have a typo of an established site, or can predict what will get traffic. Not too easy.

.Coms are a much less investment and I see them as cheap investments and much more oppertunity for high resale. Problem, all the great .coms are pretty much registered, and the vultures snag any name worthwhile before folks like me get any of them. I hope you proove everyone wrong as I want everyone here to succeed!

One caveat, your proposed strategy in this thread is less risky than your proposed mobile strategy because of the price of a .com and the price of a .tv name. There is about a $20 difference. If I had to gamble on one, I would go with your proposed stratgy in this thread ONLY if I had no other speculation strategies left to pursue. And if I am at that point, I might as well quit because I cannot achieve my investment objectives by pursuing either. I apologize for coming across so strong, but this is my opinion which has been tempered by my experience.

I think the difference is tvhouston.com looks different then tvhouston.tv

The name might look a little goofy with a tv on both ends. (from a marketing stanpoint) But if I had a particular city I would do it for defensive purposes no question.

What about newshouston.tv???
