Transfering Domain question

I currently have a domain with yahoo. I have a buyer for one of my domains and I need to transfer it to them, how do I go about doing this? How do you go about transfering to a different registrar if you can't do it on yahoo?

You turn the domain lock off, and then the other person requests a transfer from a register of their choice. However, if it was one of the 5 dollar registrations, those are untrasferable for 1 year.
