Hi guys, do you have any kind of pricing reference for the different tlds?

For example: you spotted xyz.org and you find that xyz.com is selling or it has been sold at XXXXX.

How do you use this price as a reference for your domain?

Of course, I mean if this particular name makes sense in the tld that you are buying.

I'm just talking about the most common traded tlds, not particular cases like "best.casino", etc...

Let's make an example with a generic word like "smart" or "coached".

How much would you price one of them if you would virtually own one of the following tlds?

.COM
.NET
.ORG
.XYZ
.TV
.IO
.VC
.DE
.US
.APP

It simply depends, hard judging this way...so many factors come into play. Assuming in a fantasy world "coached" just happened to be available / for sale in all extensions below today, I'll throw some comments...if this helps in a small way

Domain: Coached

COM - Very capable domain, great (current owner today wants $20k). Fair price, IMO...I'd actually take a punt and price more

NET - Nice domain (easy X,XXX / take offers)

ORG - Nice domain (easy X,XXX / take offers)

XYZ - Again, nice. Considering some of the hype / excitement around this extension, for me its a speculative bet..."some" one worded XYZ have done well. I'd be taking offers than pinning an estimate against it. Capable domain, I'd be optimistic enough to let some offers roll in

TV - Capable (X,XXX)

IO - Capable (X,XXX)

VC - Not keen

DE - Capable (X,XXX)

US - Coach us / coached us (nice play of words). Take offers

APP - App called "coached"...mmm. Take offers (maybe XXX)

Take what I've said with a pinch of salt. Again, it depends. Whos your buyer? If a "capable buyer" has approached you (I like using the word capable) from a large company, that has a boatload of money, and you're pricing your "Coached dot com" for $20k that they REALLY need / grabbing your ankles...you may rethink and negotiate. Price / work the deal out accordingly with the buyers mindset / capabilities is part of the art...diligent research and negotiation, the same with not being too greedy and blowing it. IMO

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I really do agree with you!

Probably the .COM worth more than just 20k.

And everything else that you said it make totally sense imo.

In your opinion, to be more focused on the correlation between different tlds prices, how much do you think in percentage from the .COM should we go for in the mentioned tlds?

COM - Very capable domain, great (current owner today wants $20k).
Fair price, IMO...I'd actually take a punt and price more.

NET - Nice domain (easy X,XXX / take offers) 4995?

ORG - Nice domain (easy X,XXX / take offers) 2995?

XYZ - Again, nice. Considering some of the hype / excitement around this extension, for me its a speculative bet..."some" one worded XYZ have done well. I'd be taking offers than pinning an estimate against it. Capable domain, I'd be optimistic enough to let some offers roll in 4995?

TV - Capable (X,XXX) 4995?

IO - Capable (X,XXX) 3995?

DE - Capable (X,XXX) 2995?

Something like this?

Majority COM portfolio is smart. Everyone has different expectations / life situation. One seller would be happy to take "X" price, but another will say "that's a loss, you should wait for more". Beyond all, the right price is the price you're happy with

Like that "COM", seller today asking $20k (I'd wait for more)...but it doesn't matter what I think. I don't own it, its not my business, his or her life / way of being is different, level of satisfaction (like mine, yours, anyone...different). If he / she is content, that is what ultimately counts. IMO
