Tip: Untar(upload faster) for IPower(vDeck) users

Most hosting providers today use CPanel, DirectAdmin, etc which allow you to unzip .tar.gz archives on your server very easily. Unfortunately IPower a popular host(uses vDeck), does not have this feature. Hence uploading a ~20mb script can take over 10 hrs!

Here's how you can do this in under an hour (for vDeck users).
1) Download a software for compression 7-zip
2) Suppose you want to install a phpBB forum to ./public_html/phpBB/ ,
a) First create a folder named temp
b) Create a folder named public_html inside the temp folder.
c) Put the content (phpBB folder) into the public_html folder.
3) Create a .tar.gz file.
a) Create a .tar archive from temp using 7-zip.
b) Open the .tar archive using 7-zip, and rename the temp folder to . (yes, that is a dot)
c) Create a .gz file from the .tar archive.
4) Login to your vDeck panel and goto the Host Manager
5) In the backups section restore the .tar.gz file you created, and you're done.
