Text effects in flash

hello all...,i'm working on a menu in flash, but for some reason when i animate the movies that power the menu i get this odd blue over the text and graphics. it's not a motion blur, it's just a blur over the some of the static text/background. is there a setting to correct this or would i be better off making all my text in fireworks and then importing that into flash?

any help is muchly appreciated...
