Closed on testing.com today! What do you think this package is worth (all dot coms) collectively, meaning as a package together? Do you think the are more valuable together, or individually? These are the "main" names of a niche portfolio I've put together.

Testing
Inspection
PreShipment (as in Pre-Shipment Inspection)
Verification (in escrow)
Assurance
QualityControl
QualityAssurance (under contract)
QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental)
HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environmental)
QAQC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control)

Again, these are all correctly spelled, dot com names. They are the principal marquise names in a portfolio of about 125 related names.

Any thoughts?

THANKS!

Wow, I'm guessing you have been dealing with some pretty big dollar amounts with the quality of the domains I see in your portfolio.

All these domains should be sold separately, and not as a package.

Testing, Inspection, Verification, HSSE and Assurance are the best domains in your portfolio.

Testing - Low $XX,XXX
Inspection - High $X,XXX
Verification - Mid $X,XXX
HSSE - Low $X,XXX
Assurance - High $X,XXX

Good Luck with your future with these domains!

Do you have any names like this at prices in the ranges you've estimated? I'm a buyer if you do.

Thanks for your offer.

Excellent names. I won't comment on individual values because I don't have much experience with names of that caliber. I will say though, I would imagine you would get a great deal more selling them individually than as a package. That is almost always the case, no matter the quality of the domain name. Of course there are exceptions, like if you had the plural and singular of the same name. In anycase, you have some very nice names there. I would not sell any of them at reseller values, but wait for an end user.

It takes more work to sell them one by one but you will get a lot more for them if you do.

Testing and Inspection are of course gems. Good luck.

I think testing.com probably gets alot of traffic due to the fact that developers often use testing.com or [email protected] to test applications and websites, (despite the fact that they should use example.com which exists for that purpose). I don't know if that kind of traffic is worth anything though, probably not.

Imo

I would say you have the gems. Sell them separately to end users and make the most out of it.

Hold the domain until you get the end user.

All the Best.

I agree with the others, selling them single would make more money, but you could maybe make a bundle, where you sell them two and two. One really good and one not that good.

I guess it will not be a shock if I say I like the domain "testing" :)

I dont think I have the experience to value domains in this high level.
But I will try anyway :)

Very low $xxx,xxx
Testing
Inspection
QualityControl

high $xx.xxx to very low $xxx.xxx
Assurance (perfect with sub's ex. life.assurance or quality.assurance)
QualityAssurance (:))

mid $$xx.xxx
Verification

mid $xxx
PreShipment
QHSE
HSSE
QAQC

Good luck selling and best regards,

Testing $xxx, xxx (This is huge for academic companies, or Fed Gov't.)
Inspection $xxx,xxx
QualityControl $xxx, xxx (I could see an pharmaceutical corp scooping this up.)
QualityAssurance $xxx.xxx (I could see an auto manufacturer scooping this up.)
Verification High $xx,xxx (so many uses.)
Assurance High $xx,xxx (so many uses.)

These domains assure you of a nice retirement.

As the buds said, big names you ve got man!

IMO, I would hold them 4-6 more months, the value will sightly multiply, seeing the progression of 2007, and expecting an even better one this year.

Best of luck!

Thanks for all the replies! I'm surprised on the consensus to sell individually. As I assembled this portfolio over a period of 5 plus years, I did so thinking that the "collective" value of the portfolio would be the biggest attibute of the portfolio. That the fact one owned "testing" for example would complement and therefore increase the value of "inspection" and so forth for the other names. What drove my thinking was that there are companies out there that offer all of these services.

Thanks again to all!

I think it would be more so that way if you had a a bunch of domains with a single brand, i.e howtoxx.com, 123xx.com, ezxx.com, etc.
Your domains are similar in category but not spelling

Testing.com!!! WOW!!! Great buy! I would say look for any testing firm, and sell it to an end seller. I would appraise this puppy alone at low $xxx,xxx...Your other ones are nice too, but this one just blows the others away!

In my opinion (Im kinda newb domain broker so this could be wrong, if any pro domainer want to flame, feel free, i will take as a constructive critic!) is harder to get a company to buy ALL the domains sametime for X money, than individual users/companies that would want to adquire a SINGLE one for Y money, being the sum up of all Ys > X

Ok ok that was confusing, what i mean is that imo you could make way more money selling the domains separatedly and to end users, that s it!

GOOD CALL! I bought this from an established software tester named Brian Marick. The reason I say good call is because he also owns and uses exampler.com! If you can find one of his blogs you'll see that he said the industry was moving towards "exampling" rather than testing, hence his logic for the sale. I don't know squat about software development or testing and my target market was industial testing like Construction Materials Testing, Non Destructive Testing, Laboratory Testing, etc.

Thoughts?

Lol, I am right there with you with knowing squat :) But, just look up "test" in google, and just mass email like 20,000 different testing websites about it :) I also like Inspection.com...Another end seller domain for a contractor, or inspector...High $xx,xxx for that one I would say :)

I saw somewhere that domain values have doubled each year for the past four years, so I fully believe you have a good point. In fact, when I inquired about one of the names a year ago, it was priced 70% less than what I paid for it a full year later. Another was a full 3 times more than what it was 2 years ago.

Can't see why anybody would flame you. Your view concurs with that of others, i.e. to sell individually. What if company xyz that offered all of these services had an annual turnover of over $4B, Profit of over 500M and cash on hand of over 500M and what if they were acquiring "brick and mortar" for millions and millions each year? AND, finally, what if the target company was in a very competitive sector where company "a" would do the utmost to make sure company "b" didn't get the names? Wouldn't those be attractive targets for the lot??

Depends. In my experience, which is not so extense, i tend to see that the big ass companies marketeers are inclined to concentrate their efforts in one and only aspect AKA domain (if the company is not MultiMillionarie, then u coul be on luck for the pack!) and promoting with strong developing one single indentity in the net.

Now, that s my observation. Your point of view is as well totally valid.

Anyway, it's sure thing that you will score some high numbers, so don't be worry if you cannot sell the pack in one time, keeping some of the names could bring you more profit.

Lucky you!
