Take it for what you will but I will throw my 2cents into the ring.
I am not sure the name haptics has ever really taken off (unless it is making a resurgence that I dont know about) but if I am not mistaken, its been around since the 90's (as far as software goes) and still is a term that is not very well known.
I not sure how many people know what haptics is but I am sure most people have used it in some form or another. Rumble packs in your controller is one example.
I dont know enough about where the technology is going to give any real answer to your question.
I just wanted to make a point and give you some feed back that the chances are that most people do not know what you are talking about when you use the term "Haptics".
