Hey folks, i am thinking of starting a gaming forum.. basically from scratch.

I have got a great domain name for my Gaming Community :D

Anyone interesting in developing sites and having a good plan can team up with me , looking for some brilliant people to work with, who have good knowledge about the gaming industry, and have a passion for GAMES !

Reply in this thread if you are interested, and i promise i will get back to you.
Looking forward to a bright future !

The domain itself sounds good. You should try doing post exchanges.

Hi there,

If you are serious about getting started i would use one of the paid posting services out there. I used postonmyforum.com last year to get a forum going which worked quite well.

If i where you i would pay to get something like 2000 posts, to get it well indexed. With a little bit of hard work you could be on to a winner. Keep us posted :) .

Regards,

Lee

Give it a lot of thought. Time and money just to start up then LOTS of marketing to bring in critical mass of people which means HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS of users otherwise it'll be a dead forum and there's nothing worse than a dead forum. Catch 22, no posts and no responses.

Also, building a business on .net you will bleed visitors to the .com.

Sit down, write up a little business plan with expenses, ramp up, milestones etc. That will test your commitment to this new business.

Oh yeah, revenue. When do you think you'll make your first $1, your first $100 etc.

I would expect a year of development, ramp up, investments, marketing etc etc before you are cash flow positive.

Game Forums

I set up a gamers forums on the 1st of this month and it has been going ok, with nearly 70,000 hits and 700 posts.

I will be happy to sell you the site if you want, as i dont really have enough time for these forums as i did not think it would take off like this.

Please PM me if you are interested in buying Gamers-Resource.net off me.

Thanks, And Good Luck!

Well i have a website gaminsite.com , with .net and .org too. So it is good. But the thing is i fail to get loyal visitors and traffic. I have a good banner too. IF you are intrestedopus then you can join me and i would have no problem with you.You would be my partner. We can redirect gamingcommunity there. but only if you want.

DON'T use a paid posting service, if you get the technical know how this is free...

don't pay any idiots any money

learn everything your self and go for it...........

rule number one in life NEVER BUY A FRIGGIN EBOOK!!

rule number 2.... only pay for a programmer when you are already generating income of your own efforts on the web, that way if the whole idea screws up, you didn't lose any money and have lots of knowledge gained.

if you pay for stuff and you screw up then... no knowledge.... no money

PM me though, i might be interested if you want some promo help i am good at that, but don't expect me to be posting. I give all my advice and skills away free...
