I've got a site that I created last year, rather quickly. It's called AltEnergyToday.com . It uses Carp Evolution to display RSS headlines and exceprts about alternative energy. It gathers news from both yahoo News and some blogs.
The initial page shows a combined view of the various sources, and you can click on the various sidebar links to get individual sources.
The page is butt-ugly, but I've been surprised that people keep coming back. Sometimes slick is not the best, I guess. However, I'd like to move up from butt-ugly to functional and somewhat pleasing to look at. LOL!
But, I also want to beef up and clean up the RSS parsing end of it. Sometimes the display of headings is funky, and sometimes even blank on individual sources. I'm using Carp but I find it very confusing to use and would have to relearn it all if I were to stumble back into it again. I would be fine with changing out the RSS parsing software to something else.
I make decent money with Google Adsense. You'll see a CafePress affiiliate ad but I've made zero from that over the last few months and will take that off.
So, I'm looking for someone who can 1) improve the look of the site and 2) improve the RSS parsing features, and make it easy for me to add new sources. You can start from scratch or stick with the structure you'll figure out by looking at the source.
I want to keep it simple with no database and no maintenance.
If you are interested, I'd like to hear your idea of what you would do, what RSS software you would use, and an approximate price. Please pm me or feel free to ask any clarification questions here.
