Hi,

I have a website template that is somewhat simular to another site, layout wise (placement of the items), but not the graphics.

Is it possible for me to get sued or something over having a simular layout? I've talked to 2 people and they say that mine is pretty different, but I don't want to have it released then have to take the site down while making a new layout.

Most layouts are similar as far as they are laid out, its the graphics that make them different, people can copyright graphics, not a general layout

To be honest I doubt that they would sue you or if you were sued anything would happen. You can clearly point out that they are completely different sites with a similar way of presenting data.

When you look at it don't all forums basically look the same? Don't all three column websites generically have the same setup? Yes, but no one is sueing each other.

I doubt that you will have any problems unless you dwell upon them. Just startup your site and know that nothing will happen.

Well as long as you don't steal there content then there shouldn't be a problem.

yeah, you should have no problems with this. make sure as stated above, you do not use their content, and definately dont go asking them if they are going to get upset and give them a link to your website, as this will cause suspision, and get them going on something that isnt there. good luck with this..
