Shoutbox

Hey guys i just added a shoutbox to my site.. it doesnt really need 1 as it isnt the kind of site for people to hang out.. but do u think its a good idea so people can leave quick success stories and links?

Shoutboxes are usually found on community sites so the posts you get may mostly be spam. To me, it sounds like it'd be too much of a hassle to maintain a shoutbox that gets few REAL posts.

i think a shoutbox is great - the loyal members would especially love it.

if you do go through with adding a shoutbox, make sure only members of the community can post. this will help in reducing all those spam messages. you should also have some sort of report feature to report spammers/harrassers/etc.

shockie is right, but when I read this it made me think of a "get rich quick" kind of site, where no one actually registers...

thx for the input guys.. i think im gonna go with not having a shoutbox.. seems the wrong idea for that kinda site..
