Second Level .VN TLD Launched

After much delay, the .VN corporation has finally launched the .vn cctld on August 1st 2006. This will be a great boost to the Vietnam namespace, as previously, only registered businesses could register .vn 2nd level domain names.

I personally think that too many extenions are being created and priced at a too high of a price. Are cctlds/tlds the new get rich scheme? I mean $200 for a domain name a year I think is crazy just to register it.

Well, normally I would be all over these 2 names, but my money is tied up beyond belief at the moment, so the lucky individual(s) who get these can thank me for it:

Both are high $xxx to low $x,xxx at least. Bet.vn was available too. Most of the power words are gone already though. Adult.vn would have been killer (AVN = Adult Verification Network).

On Monday 14th August Vietnam's Top Level Domain .VN Landrush starts. All companies in the world are free to register .VN domain names without restrictions.
