Screw You Buy Domains

Anyone else totally sick of this company?

You make a reasonable offer and they return with $xx,xxx on just about everything. And they keep hounding you too.

What set me off is their site right now with a 10% off image when I viewed the buy page of a domain I want. 10% off what? They don't list prices so wtf is the point of saying 10% off?

I probably would pay $xxx for this domain but since it's with Buy Domains I ain't even gonna bother making the offer.

So...anyone else have the same sentiment for this company?

Don't hate em for being able to charge that much for a domain you may value at $xxx. I have never had a bad experience with them although they do send low offers on premium names, that's to be expected at this point..

I have bought a couple domains from them this year. I agreed to a price of $888 on a domain they were asking $3588 for last week. It is a .ORG with 110K exact searches.

They might make lowball offers when you are selling domains, at the same time their business model works and they know the value of keyword domains to end users.

That's not why I hate them. I don't hate them because their able to charge a lot. I hate them because they actually do it. And again much of my complaints is about how they sell. They consistently send emails and even call me on the phone trying to close a deal. Yet any reasonable counter offers are seemingly declined.

I'm certainly not going to buy from Buy Domains nor will I recommend anyone else do so either. F'em.

I called them recently and got a pretty good domain for 1/3 of their asking price. The rep needed to get a manager to approve my offer, but they called back within 10 minutes, took my payment details, and that was that. I actually enjoyed doing business with them.

You have to keep in mind they sell most of their domains to end users, not domain investors. If you want to buy from them, don't expect domainer prices. They don't need to sell their domains to you for a low amount, they can hold until an end user comes along. They do negotiate though.

In this case they do not need to list any discounts on their web sites.

I have made generous $XXX offers to them before and never received a reply. And this has been on domains that have been regged the same day or week I made an offer. Greedy Bas****s!! Don't know how they manage to stay in business.

....Don't know how they manage to stay in business.

They must be doing something right as they are consistently getting dozens of Low x,xxx to mid x,xxx sales every single week for a few years now....the model must work for them overall.

I think far more of their names are priced more realistic now than they were 2 or 3 years ago.

Bought 1 domain from them. I see that they price it better than a lot of domainers.
Will consider to buy another at the end of the year, let's see how many % I can bargain off the list price.
