I have been doing a bit of research and wanted to find out more about ROR ( Ruby On Rails ) and it's advantages.

Id like to hear from you guys to maybe list the pros and cons of using ROR as opposed to using something more commonly used; such as php or asp.

I also am looking for a ROR developer and can recommend someone, that would be appreciated.

I am not a Ruby coder but as far as I know it makes you many things easier to handle on your website. Many people prefer to use Ruby, but I heard that some are gave up Ruby and turn back to php.

Well, I'd say stick to php because of the better support for it on servers. Also alot more people code PHP, so your support network is a little larger.

I say go for it! Always a great thing to see new programmers step out of the norm and try some less used languages. If people just used the same language forever, not much improvement would happen :P

I've played with ruby a bit, haven't really done a whole lot with it yet though. I hope to get into it too :tu:

Finding Ruby on Rails support is not all that difficult at all. I've started trying to learn it myself as I have been impressed with the simplicity of the code that I have reviewed. The only downside is that it can be a little slower on an Apache server. However, once you factor in the right settings, it's right at the same speed as PHP in terms of load times. It's supposedly only going to get faster.
