I do not feel much value there...it can happen though that end user will come who will utilise those 4 L as a shortcut of his current name ("retired something" maybe...) - whether there is a good probability for that, serious research should be made. Until then, it feels like random 4L in .org and thus not much value.

Do you have any language degree or masters in lexicography? If not, learn not to talk without knowledge. I can tell you categorically that 'retd' is a dictionary entry in the dictionary:

Oxford Dictionary
retd
(also ret.)

  • Retired (used after the name of a retired armed forces officer or in recording that a sports player retired from a game)

    ‘Capt. Edwin Richards, RN (retd)’

‘the side were given a sound start by opener Edwards (31 retd)

retd
retd is a written abbreviation for retired. It is used after someone's name to indicatethat they have retired from the army, navy, or air force.
...Commander J. R. Simpson, RN (retd).

Kate, I think because you 'think inside the box', that's why your knowledge is confined to what's inside your "box". You need to think outside of that box as it is the only way to learn about the world around you and increase your knowledge.
