Redirecting Domains from Server Hub (Script)?

I am pretty sure this exists because I hear domainers using this feature all the time. I just don't know where to start looking.

Is there a way to have a server app/script where I can submit all my domains in one central hub and manage them so they redirect to either my parking pages, developed websites and affiliate websites?

I believe I need to point my domains in my registrar to my server, but I have very limited knowledge on how to get this accomplished.

I want to have complete control for each domain and since I have over 1500 domains, a mass edit option would be nice.

I would like to know if there is any free or paid solutions out there.

Thanks!

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking 100%, but normally you would use the control panel at your registrar and set the "name servers" domain to point to where each is set up.

If you have a lot of domains that are parked with a service, you would submit them there, and then change the nameserver info for each domain to what the parking service tells you to use. You should be able to do a mass update to get this done.

It is not common to redirect them to one central place and then point or redirect them to other places.

Now, you can normally direct a domain to a parking service and have them start to display the parking pages right away, even before you submit your domain to them. I think this is done with a DNS "wild card" so that the DNS (name server) will accept anything that is directed to it, and then show you something that has been set up as a default. Perhaps that is what you are interested in? I would like to get that information also...! :)

This is what I am looking for:

Because I have many domains with different Registrars, I would like to point all my domains to my server. Once this is done I want to be able to control (forward or redirect) my domains using a control panel on my server (would need some kind of script) in order to monitor and make changes quickly if I need to.

The reason being is because I purchase massive amounts of domains and would like to have the ability to change my DNS (or forwarding URL) to any parking pages that I see fit. Some domains work better on certain parking pages and for me to go in each Registrar account and make a DNS change is both time consuming and has an element of lost time in order to wait for the DNS to switch. If I control this on my server by using forwarding URL or some kind of redirections, this would happen instantly.

Not sure if anything exists in order to do this, but it would be great if there was.

I guess another issue that I'm not sure about is, would Parking companies allow this?
I know that affiliates wouldn't care since most affiliates provide you with a unique trailing ID for your account, so it does matter how you send the traffic to their landing pages.

I understand. As far as I know, your options would be to 1) host your own DNS name server(s) which would allow you to have control over the domains, but some parking services request that you use their name servers, so I am not sure that would work for them. Other parking services allow you to forward or redirect the domains to them and then you could use any name server.

Hosting your own DNS may be more complicated that you want to get, and would have possible issues with the domain being forwarded to another location, as far as what the search engines may think about that (Why are you forwarding when you can just set it and leave it?).

There may be a solution like this out there, but I am not aware of it. I know that there are some scripts/setups that would allow you to act as a domain parking service does, and anything configured to use your name servers could be set to display a parking page. But that may not provide the redirection to other sites that you want.

This is really not a newbie question... :) And I think you should ask it under the parking topic or another area where there are large domain owners like yourself.

If you cannot find what you are looking for my suggestion would be to consolidate your domains to fewer registrars if possible, and then just manage them that way. The DNS propagation delay that you speak of is generally quite short when making changes, so I would not consider that a big issue. However if you think it is, hosting your own DNS servers would allow you to shorten the cache time when you are going to be making changes, and that would insure changes are propagated quickly.

Another benefit of managing the domains as you mention is that you could have them switch from one parking provider to another in some manner. This is the type of service that Imonetize provides and would help you to determine the best service to park with, but it does require that you set up all your domains at several providers, which will also be an investment in time...!

I am very interested in any resources you may find. I am trying to develop my own domain parking solution for myself. :)

Thanks, very educational.

I will let you know if I find anything for sure :)

Could I get a mod to move this thread to a more appropriate category?

I am looking into these guys.
Not sure if this is exactly what I need but seems interesting:
