Q: about Neom City domain names

Hi Forum,

I am a new member on namePros. If you do not mind me asking, I have some questions for you about Neom City domain names. What is Neom City? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neom

First a little about me. I have lived & worked in the ME (Bahrain, UAE & Saudi) for almost 10 years working in the IT field. I have built 5 data centers and numerous websites. I have purchased over 75 Neom City related domain names, some to develop websites for, some to resale.

The first domain name I have built a website for is https://neomdomainnames.com. I am now in the process of creating a marketing plan to drive internet traffic to this site for the reselling of the domain names I own and for listing other Neom domain names from individuals who would like to sell their domain names on https://neomdomainnames.com.

I have a very high listing price on my domain names, which I understand will not result in many domain name resales, but at this time I am willing to hold on to the domain names until at least 2022. Neom City is still the world’s largest sandbox, so I am willing to wait and see for a couple of years.

Q1: In your opinion, what would be the best ME newspaper, magazine or trade site I should place my advertisements in?

Q2: Have you seen any interest in the Neom City domain name resale market?

Q3: Have you purchased any Neom City domain names to resale?

Neom, the world’s largest project, was announced on 24 October 2017 by Prince Muhammad bin Salman. I was reading the news and financials here in Australia about 10:30pm when I heard about it.

Within about 20 minutes I tried registering some domains. I actually remember that I tried 16 names, and 8 were still available. Obvious domains like NeomTravel and NeomHotels were regged in the first few hours - maybe minutes. But some not so immediately obvious but still excellent names were still available.

So I was able to reg some top tier names like NeomMarket.com and NeomZone.com (which I built into a website). I even looked up the whois of one of the domains I missed - and it was somebody faster than me in Jeddah!

In the next couple of days I had some new ideas and was able to reg a few more, but most had now already been regged. Out of curiosity I went to TimeAndDate.com to look at the time zones to see how quickly I had heard about the news. Turns out that I heard about it about 4 hours after the announcement so that was a great stroke of luck!

You sometimes need to move fast in the Industry of Domains.

This month I have been contacted by @Neom Smith who discovered I have a small portfolio. Sounds like a great plan he has to offer his holdings at NeomDomainNames.com, especially since he has extensive Middle East experience. And thanks for opening up the platform.

I’m planning to submit some of my names because the fee is very reasonable - especially since he is planning to market the site in the ME. Sounds like the fee will mostly just go towards advertising. So if anyone has any Neom domains I would suggest they make a comment here or DM Neom Smith for details.

As for the questions in this post, I have no idea which ME media would be good to advertise in, and I don’t expect domains to start selling until a couple more years pass.

I think you are referring to the same website, that Neom Smith (not sure if actual name) just submitted in the first reply.

I have also got a question about NEOM related domains after I read the article about Facebook yesterday: https://domainnamewire.com/2019/10/29/facebook-sues-domain-name-registrar-onlinenic/ Neom is a sovereign name it also may be trademarked so even though I am very much interested in Neom Domains which I also have listed should I tread with caution as there could be problems further down the line. Any advice will be truly appreciated.
