I was using Motion.pro, it gets a feed from RegistryPro. How many registrations have other people counted?
I did wonder if the feed was working because I checked Cube.pro and it had been regged early in the morning but I couldn't see it on the feed.
Realistically, whether it's 60 or 250 it's still dire. We need tens of thousands of .pro registrations for the extension to gain some credibility.
The combination of restrictions and rip off reg fees is lethal, .pro isn't going to make any progress until these issues are addressed. The way to go is to say a .pro domain has to be used in a professional way, ie not porn, gambling, or spamming. No other extension is doing that.
Whatever use people have in mind for a domain, they want it cheap, uncomplicated, and well known by end users. .Pro is failing registrants on every front. It's massively overpriced, nobody knows exactly what professional use is or what professions, qualifications, and memberships are covered, and hardly anybody has heard of it.
The whole relaunch was shambolic. There was no marketing, it was put back at the last minutes, phased for no good reason, the new restrictions were not clearly spelled out, it should have been preceded by an auction of premium names on Moniker or Sedo, and most importantly .pro is still massively overpriced. $25 for new registrations is uncompetitive and $60 for renewals is ridiculous.
To get the relaunch back on track RegistryPro have got to slash prices by another 75% and go back to ICANN and change the registration requirements so it's about professional use and not professional qualifications.
