Quite a few of you are taking advantage of this TLD's new price reduction and lifted restrictions. I've been working on a list of available names. Some of these are great fits for the extension. Some are not. As always, register at your own risk.

IMPORTANT: To all those considering registering these names at $50 each - please do not grab them just because you can. This is an extremely risky business to begin with, and then choosing a relatively unknown extension makes it even more of a risk. Especially you teenagers reading this - if you have $50 burning a hole in your pocket, you are better off looking for a nice bargain for sale in the forum, in a mainstream extension. We adults have more disposable income, and our lives are half over anyway ;), so we can risk more than you. Please consider your options carefully before spending your money.

Where does one go reg a .PRO???

I'm wondering too, who's the company running the show with this .tld... like is it Verisign??

Thanks!

Agreed Allan.

I took time to re-check everything today, and have just updated the original post. :)

*Ahh I'm dying cos I threw my $50 down the drain* Help me, db! :D

Can't help to agree that buying any domain is an investment that you can play along only when you can afford to spend that $$! So beware people, especially with new extensions as well. Thanks for the reminders, db. :)

Hey! You are very welcome William. Good luck with your name(s) sir. :)

Ladies and Gentlemen, I just did a check and found all 50 U.S. States have been registered in the .PRO extension. Interesting.

I have resisted the temptation to register any more, and sticking with the 2 names I already got. :red:

One of my favorites that is still available....volunteer.pro...would be good for our church or several churches together. Plenty other good names out there...windows, windowsxp and some very short, generic ones also.
Price is just wrong at $50 and that's just this month's half price special at EnCirca. I'd say with some pricing changes and competition .pro could take off very well.

The .pro registry is now owned by Hostway, a large-scale web hosting company. It can only be registered via ICANN Registrars. Encirca is the only registrar offering this promotion during the month of March
