$303.00 (total one time payment of web and hosting fees/yearly together)
--------------------------------------------------

This is as down-to-the-point as I can get with these fees. Also the webpage has a doc type now, but google found the site just fine, without having any type of meta tags. Is it necessary for the site to have the other tags? Also the people who are wanting the website made are wanting to buy the site after the contract ends. I'm hoping the site isn't too expensive, there is some css made on the website as well, mainly the homepage. Thank you for your comments and input, and please keep your criticisms to yourself, like many others have said on these posts, everyone was a begginer at one time.... :yell: :tu:  :o :guilty: :-/

The post above is as basic as I can show about the price ranges for the monthly and the yearly fees. I hope this clears things up with the price ranges I have for web design fees. Please any feed back is appreciated if anyone is willing to take a look at the price ranges above this post. Thank you :tu:

I'm a bit confused as to what that post was all about :-/

Sorry for the confusion, I just wanted to know if the fees above are reasonable, as in, <u>too high or too low</u>, for a customer wanting a website made by me. Again sorry for the confusion, just tried to make it short and simple :td:

However, if you want to get an idea about what I'm talking about, you can go to Needed price range comment thread in the Web Design Review. :tu:

I just thought if I made it into a new thread, people would respond more. There are days that it doesn't surprise me, that the reason no one will post anything in an old(er) threads is because, people don't want to go to the beginning of the threads to figure out what it is the person is asking. :tu:

Thank you for your response, hope this clears everything up. :tu:

Heh, web design pricing is a very wide and varied subject ;) You cannot really say "I charge this much for this" - it just doesn't work like that and doing that will not be cost-effective for you. You need to consider multiple factors:

You need to take layout and design into account. Is the layout especially complex? If it is, it's going to take longer to create and develop which will increase the cost.

What about backend coding? Does the site require, perhaps, a PHP/MySQL backend to run it? Again, that will increase time on you which should be reflected in the cost. What about other coding languages - Perl, Javascript, ASP.NET etc?

Will the client need a Content Management System (CMS) to be implemented? If so, does it need to be custom-coded, again, this will significantly increase the cost of the project because of the extra time involved.

Do you need to spend time and money travelling to meet with the client and talk over the project?

Overall, it all comes down to time. A popular way of pricing is to work out how many hours the project will take you, then multiply that by your cost per hour for work (based on your skill level etc. - this could be anything from $20 to $200). Then, perhaps add a little bit on as extra costs that you may not have included and supply that to you client as a quote.

Basically, pricing is not black and white, there's lots of stuff in between that you need to consider ;)

One more thing, when pricing - be fair. Never think, "Oh, that sounds too high, it's not fair". It is fair. Charge fairly and if your client can't accept that, let it go. And besides, too many clients are finding out about the "bottom-rate-cheap-price-run-away-with-your-money" type companies and often prefer to pay higher prices because they feel they are getting a better service - and in general, higher prices do mean better service :D

Hope I helped you out. Any more questions, just ask :)

Will.

Thanks will7, I will take that into consideration. Thank you for taking the time to reply. really, the only prices I really need to figure out to use is the information I've provided above. The CGI/Perl and PHP is included in a resellers package through www.whatnott.com. All thats standing in the way is the price range for a designing a website. :tu: again thank you :tu:

If anyone wishes to make more reply's; please do, all are welcome :tu:
