It's unsupported so at your own risk imho.
Technically the CPU in that model only supports 16GB so it may "work" but not be "working".
That's the official intel tech specs.

If you file a claim or warranty make sure you back it down to 16GB,

Yeah, I know it is supposed to be unsupported. My B-I-L has one and it works and he showed me this link:

I have to admit, I did get a little worried when it was first installed because the first time it got powered up it only showed 16. I am thinking I might take the second 16 out just to save it as a backup or something.

One thing I have noticed since the extra chips have been installed is that the laptop seems to be running hotter. I am not 100% sure if it is because I really didn't notice/pay attention to it before the upgrade. After the upgrade I kept feeling the heat after my daughter said it was hot.

Right now I just checked again and I an just using 17% of my RAM so I might take the second out to see if that makes a difference.

I don't want to fry the damn thing so I am a little nervous about the heat. I was thinking about putting the old RAM in and checking the heat it gives of with an infrared temperature gun to see what the difference is between the 2.

If you actually read my post I didn't say any app required 32 GB of RAM. I have 3-4 different browsers open at a time. 2 of them (Chrome & Torch)have 2-3 tabs each for my ebay stuff for my multiple accounts, and the other 2 (SRWare Iron & Comodo Dragon) have usually 20 tabs open between them.

I use Iron for 4 my browsing, forum usage, Registrar related and misc tabs. Comodo has many tabs open for several of my WordPress sites.

I don't like to log into everything each and every time I want to access a site which is why I have so many tabs open. I had 16GB (2x8) and I was getting a lag when switching between browsers sometimes. I also usually have Photoshop open when I am working on my WordPress sites to tweak the images and that takes a good toll on the RAM.

I thought I was stuck at 16 GB without a way to upgrade but then my brother in law told me he upgraded his ultrabook (HP I think) to 16 from 8 and did it by way of Intelligent Memory. I was only going to buy 1 16xGB but got a way better price buying 2 so I bought 2. Both were installed in my Lenovo T450 which now has 32. It is overkill but I was just going to have the extra 16GB in their till I needed it in another PC. Right now my T450 is the only one compatible with the Intelligent memory. I was planning on just putting it away till I needed it, IF I needed it but I figured it would at least have a home in my T450. My RAM usage even with Photoshop and tons of browser windows spread between 3-4 browsers is usually only at 15-20% usage.

How's Comodo Dragon and Torch working out for you? Almost tried them out a while ago but the reviews I found were awful.

How's Comodo Dragon and Torch working out for you? Almost tried them out a while ago but the reviews I found were awful.

Sorry, I must have missed your question to me.

To answer, Torch is ok but it is a bit touchy and does crash too often for my liking. Dragon is good, I haven't had any problems with it really. It has crashed maybe twice and had to restart but I always have dozens of tabs open in it which could be the culprit.

I use Dragon and SRWare Iron the most. They are both Chromium based browsers and are quite similar. Iron seems to be a bit faster from my experience.

If I was limited to using just one browser on my PC it would be Iron as it has performed the best for me out of the countless browsers I have tried. Dragon is a close second. Dragon is known for it's security so if that's an issue then it would be a first choice.

Some of us like to use a tmpfs filesystem, which lives in memory.

Not as needed as much now with SSDs but it still improves performance of operations that do a lot reading/writing to the file system.
