how much can worth this great domain with this terrible extension?

May get mid $xxx or even more because of its keywords.

I don't know much about .name extension. They are not famous but social word is quite famous.

Could be worth something as a kind of social directory - with people using different names on different websites because other names were taken, moods change, etc, social.name sounds like a place to bring that all together. But without a website like that, I'd rank it low $XXX. The extension just doesn't have anything going for it without a plan on how to take advantage of it.

Fashion.name sold for $750 a couple months ago. I would say "social" may be in that league. However, I'm not sure how easy it would be to find a buyer with .name. The "right of the dot" is becoming more and more important these days. There are more and more industry leaders who are saying this, for one reason or another. I think it's because of the glut of new TLDs coming and there has to be scrutiny which are the better ones.

Hell, I love it myself -- from a developer standpoint. I agree with most of the price ranges being suggested, high three figures. Would make a great social profile directory, or a cross platform plugin/app like Gravatar. You'd probably come out better finding a development partner, building something on it then selling that.

Thanks for the appraisals. In other forums the appraisals were almost equal here, mid or high $ xxx or low $ x.xxx with very lucky. I think I'll put it in "make offer" here in the forum to see if I can get at least high $xxx
I received an offer of $240 on it but I think I can get at least the same of "fashion.name", social is a stronger word than fashion (I think). If I don't get it I will get a partnership to create a site.
I think is a good plan. Not?

Social.name would be a great brand for a "social search engine". You put in someone's name and it gives you a list of their social media sites, including their latest tweets, etc.. Maybe limit it to famous people.

If you build that (and it doesn't sound too complicated to do so), I think you could get the low $xx.xxx you're looking for. Unless, of course, it's already been done several times before..
