OPTIMIZE.NET - www.optimize.net
Hey, no fanfare yet... but OPTIMIZE.NET has made its "soft launch". What does that mean? Means its live, but it still has a ways to go before a formal LAUNCH of the site (most features are not yet available).

WHAT IS IT?
Well, see the ABOUT page, but in short, OPTIMIZE.NET is a new site, dedicated to helping webmasters get their jobs DONE. Whether its optimizing their website, creating graphics, getting content, locating resources, or performing the daily ins and outs of their often complicated jobs, OPTIMIZE.NET is here to help.

WHAT WILL I FIND?
Soon you will be finding all manner of tools, texts, and toys. In the meantime, you can check out the ones ready for the launch.

* 3D LOGO CREATOR
Create a 3D logo for your business using our online tool!
http://www.optimize.net/tool/3d-logo-creator.html
* Code Obfuscator
Looking to HIDE you PHP or PERL code from the casual wandering eye? Try this!
http://www.optimize.net/tool/code-obfuscator.html
* TEXT COMPARISON
The FIRST of the exclusive tools found only on OPTIMIZE.NET, the text comparison tool is highly useful for coders. By inputing two blocks of text, a comparison is made and you instantly know which lines contain "altered" material. For those familiar with SnapNames "Whois change" alerts, this essentially works in a similar fashion. It highlights changed lines in the original source and in the compared source, giving you a perfect overview of the difference. Due to the complexities of the comparison, the tool returns a small amount of false positives in long blocks of code with numerous repeating lines.

* RESOURCE DIRECTORY
This is your one-stop-shop page CHOCK-FULL of links! Whether your looking for messageboards, resources, or legal help, this page-o-links has something for everyone.

Many, many more tools to come. Hopefully these help make your day more productive!

Let me know if you have any feedback. Much appreciated.

Regards,

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
AfternicAfternic
I've added an IDN Converter and tools supporting 2 separate text encoding methods. The 3rd, the text "translation" tool (currently greyed out) will really be nice. It doesn't translate "language", but think "configurable secret decoder ring". It will also generate Javascript and PHP functions for you.

Many of these are based on work I'm currently doing, or things I've completed in the past and found handy.

Recently some people have expressed interest in the following tool I've just made live.

The tool:
* WORD PARSER
This word parsing tool looks for up to 3 words within a string or domain name on each line that you submit. If the string or domain name HAS the required characteristics, it appears in the "Output" window. If it does not, it is consigned to the void. A full reporting of which names did and did NOT make the cut is available beneath the tool in the standard reporting area. You may submit up to 100 lines at a time.
http://www.optimize.net/tools/word-parser.html

As a sidenote, a major script will be released soon that incorporates this functionality for names imported into a database. All names will have this "check" performed upon import, and automatic word separation will be a standard facet of its operation.

Best Regards,

* TYPO GENERATOR
This domain name typo generator allows people to generate common typographical errors for a list of domain names. Choose from "skipped" characters, "doubled" characters, "reversed" characters, "extra" characters, and "wrong" characters. You may also choose whether or not to limit errant keyboard strokes simply to "adjacent" keys, or to all legal characters surrounding each key.

More details and information about this feature will be provided on the website in the future.

NEW TOOL!

* IP ADDRESS CHECKER
IP checker allows you to instantly check a batch of IP addresses, and determine who administrates them, and where they originate from. The text pasted into the form is parsed for the first 20 IP addresses it finds in dotted-quad format ONLY. This tool is a handy way to analyze who may be sending you e-mail, visiting your website, or showing up in a log file. The data is formatted for easy reference.

Cool. Lots of uses for it. I'm surprised I haven't seen a tool like this around anywhere. I've found tossing IPs in and getting info is just damn useful, especially when it parses IPs out of any other data surrounding it (doesn't need to be strictly a list of IPs).
